Electric Pressure Cooker
OK, I'm a big fan of the slow cookers - cast iron cooking at the campsite, however, I also love my electric pressure cooker ...... anyone else bring one while camping? I like it because it less messy and time consuming for myself and wife, and if you can assemble pieces/parts before leaving, throw them in the cooker, and have a beautiful stew/chili/stroganoff/roast in less than 45 minutes, ..... why not?
Anyone else?

Sounds like a great idea! Too bad I don't own a pressure cooker. Anything that is less messy and less time consuming is good for me!

Never seen and electric one. I have a stainless steel Presto model thats 26 years old and just use it on the stove top at home. We don't use it when camping...I opt for easier to cook meals.

Great idea! DW is already getting the electric pressure cooker out for the next trip. I can't wait to dig into the meal she will fix.
Any idea how much battery draw there is , if boondocking?

I have an electric one and a stove top one (for canning). I could see bringing the electric one camping, but it's pretty big. I think a lot of people won't have any place to put it. No problem for me though, most of my cabinets are empty! I would be interested in some good pressure cooker recipes though, I haven't ever used mine, got it last Christmas.

Maybe I am misunderstanding, but if boondocking the receptacles do not work, so you couldn't use the electric pressure cooker.

Agree. I assumed the electric pressure cooker was 110 VAC just like an electric skillet, griddle, coffeemaker, or crock pot.
You'd need a bank of batteries and a whopper of an inverter to run a high load item like that.

Yeah, I think an electric pressure cooker would be a tall order for even the best boondocking systems...
