I picked up one of these and really like the ease of making one cup( really two).

Quick and easy.

I make French press coffee. It makes just enough coffee for my morning needs. I you need is a French coffee press and a container to boil water in. Clean up takes a little longer but is no big deal.
Plus, French coffee tastes good.

How do you clean the French press? I don't want to put grounds down the drain.

I just tap as much as I can into the trash. There's usually just a little bit left over in the carafe, but I can't see why it would cause any problems with the RV's plumbing.

Not reading through all 35 pages so if this has been mentioned I apologize. We use coffee bags. They are like tea bags only with coffee. Boil water on the stove and soak the bags . Easy to do, easy to clean up and makes a decent fresh cup without electricity.

About what I do. I've read in a couple places coffee grounds are horrible in plumbing.

Keurig. I've specifically built shelves for it (see my 272 mod post under my username). And have a generator specifically (well maybe not specifically) for the Keurig! Addicted.

A man could get really rich if he could come up with a 12v Keurig...

Using paper towels, we wipe out all the grounds we can and put it in the trash.

We've heard that solids in the gray tank can result in odor problems. So, if something needs to be rinsed that has solids in it (coffee grounds or whatever), we dump that into the black tank.

I spread the grounds outside in and around the plantings because their good for the soil. Their not acidic as many people think instead they sweeten the soil. I'm into gardening and composting and this is one of the things that I blend into my soil. My soil is light and airy and the carrots are as sweet as can be. These are going to the food bank.

This is what I use too.
It extremely easy to use and clean and it makes a *great* cup of coffee.

The "pour over" method is approved by Coffee Snobs.
I simply can't imagine anything better.

We usually put the coffee grounds in the garbage or in the fire pit.

Lol. I always feel stupid when there is an obvious and common sense solution.

At home I compost them.

I'm not a coffee drinker—can't stand the taste even though I love the aroma—but, when I worked for a convenience store between retirements, my customers repeatedly told me I made the best coffee. We had a machine that made the coffee and all we did was put a filter in the basket, pour in the contents of a sealed packet of grounds, and turn on the machine. The only reason my coffee tasted better was I went to the trouble of thoroughly cleaning the pots and the machine the night before and made sure the coffee was always fresh. No one else could be bothered to do that.

We go with a percolator, a 10 cup drip, a French press and the aeropress. You have to use very finely ground in the aeropress for the best results. You basically make a cup of espresso and then "let it down". 30 seconds max and you can make a HUGE mug of some of the best tasting coffee ever. Experiment with the amount of grounds to suit your own taste. It is only one cup but once you have your kettle on the boil the brewing is fast and the clean up is even faster. Great for a wake up before an early fishing trip or afternoon nap!

Trader Joes has pour over disposable coffee things. I don't want to call them bags. You pour 10 oz or so of boiling water in and allow it to brew for 4 minutes then pour into a mug. Expensive at $1.50 each but good taste.

If I had to choose between coffee and food... it would be a tough choice, We use a percolator, fresh ground coffee beans, and spring water. The ratio is one tablespoon to a 6oz cup of coffee and add one for the pot. It is a little more time consuming because you cant really just turn it on and come back when it is finished. When it starts to perk, turn it to low and so it perks but wont boil over. I wait 7 minutes but I like strong coffee. I havent read all the entries so dont know if this was mentioned but there are filters for percolaters which solves the problem of grounds in your coffee.(check Amazon) the length of this post tells you something about my obsession with coffee!! When we camp with friends, everyone comes over with empty cups in the mornings, and I can go through a pound of beans in a weekend

I use one of these at work and bring it home for the weekend when going camping. They are not that expensive so I will probably buy another one just for the camper.

https://www.amazon.com/Aerobie-AeroP.../dp/B001HBCVX0

It is kind of like a frech press but the coffee doesn't sit on the grounds so you don't get any bitterness. It can also make some pretty darn strong coffee if that is what you want. It works very much like a very big syringe of course without the needle.

Smelling coffee brewing, during the early morning in a campground, is one my favorite camping experiences.

That and bacon frying.

It takes me back to my younger days when things were a lot more Spartan.
