bought a Keurig 2.0 they made it so you could not use the single refillable pods.. but the darn thing would not read the factory pods either.. took it back and went back to my drip maker...

There's a simple mod you can do to fool it so it works on most all pods... not just the Keurig certified ones. Check YouTube.

Like you, Seann... we got the 2.0 and after I learned you couldn't make large cups of coffee with it, back to Costco it went.

Gotta have that brew! Finally tossed the percolator after it puked one time too many over the burners. Got the Coleman camp drip and like that BUT you've got to be awake to use it effectively. When we have shore, an inexpensive electric drip creates a good cup. Obviously, this is where I could use that magic wand!

These are some awesome suggestions. My personal favorite is the moka pot. The next question is, how do I steam milk for my wife's latte???

I was tactfully (and gleefully) advised by a tent-camper with only a ancient cooktop perk that if I needed a bean grinder, French press, steamer, etc. to make my morning latte or espresso, then I was a glamper! So long as I can store/use those tools-of-the-trade ~ then I wear that title proudly!!

Welcome to the club from another Glamper!

110V Grinder (needs genset or inverter)
Tin percolator works on the gas stove
Afternoon refill or warm-up needs the microwave and genset.

Nothing wrong w/ 'glamping'. If you're on a RV forum, you've clearly moved away from a tent with a sleeping bag on the ground.

We may be getting a bit off-topic, but it is the fools that continue to get chilly in their rain-soaked tents that 'have a problem' with our version of camping.

Been there. Done that.

I enjoy camping so much more this way.

I don't mind being called a glamper. Just because we're out camping, doesn't mean I want to abandon civilization entirely! That means bringing my espresso and steamed milk with me.

If that makes me a glamper, then I'm ok with it.

best coffee

I hope no one will think ill of us but after wrestling with perculators, french presses and all, we ran across Starbucks instant coffee in the small tubes at Costco. I have to say they make a great cup of instant coffee that doesn't taste like instant coffee. My wife still needs her flavored half and half but it works for us.

We use an old school 12 cup electric drip machine when camping. K-cups at home.

Use a mini Keurig with shore power and an Aeropress (AEROPRESS®) when just propane to boil water. The Aeropress makes an excellent cup of coffee especially with fresh ground. The grounds pop out in a nice round puck into the fire which makes cleanup much easier than a French press or percolater. The Aeropress is a must have, even when tenting.

And now to bedazzle my bean grinder and French Press! Seriously, the only thing that really matters is a good cup of coffee that gets your day off to a great start.
