Since this excellent article was written, a company named Torjik has released a complete kit for hooking up a Coleman Road Trip grill directly to the LP gas quick connect that's on many of our trailers. It's called the Converta-C. They also sell a kit for hooking up Weber grills; amazingly that's called Converta-W. Here's the link to Torjik's site: http://torjik.com/#_convertac

This is now being sold by quite a few other sources, too. Good luck!

I bought one from my dealer. Also the RVQ came with a short one.

I know this is an old post but did you ever figure this out? I ended up cutting 3/8" off the male adapter (nipple end) and grinding/polishing it. Fits perfectly now... hope this helps someone!

Thought I would make a quick post here. I converted my Coleman Roadtrip Grill. My TT did not have a low pressure connection on it already, so here are the parts I used to make a connection off of my tank:

On the Coleman, disassemble the regulator and connection and put an elbow on instead of the regulator:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006PKKZL8

Use a male to male fitting to connect to a male quick connect fitting:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003NXYB5Q

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06Y3HTK8W

You will use the female quick connect fitting from above on the LP tank side.

On the LP tank side, I used a splitter, with a cap that will screw into a 1/4 NPT:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LPY9R8U

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0742ZDKG5

This screws into a single stage low pressure regulator:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0014E3MSI

And then you need a 3/8 to 1/4 adapter:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B013RY411O

Then put on the femaile quick connect from above and get whatever hose you want to run between them:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XK43NL3

I also got this guy to protect the splitter connection when not in use:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JZVLER8

It's a bit pricey to do this, but it's about the same as using a Converta-C kit plus the extra stuff you need to make it work on something that doesn't have a low pressure line already available.

Thanks, does anyone know if the info that Bob Landry posted back in 2013 is still current? Scroll all the way down to the first post in this thread.
We have had an awful time trying to hook our Coleman stove up to the propane on our tt.
You would think they would make it easier than this!

I think he makes it clear in that post that it if for Weber grills. The post before yours, #24 addressed the Coleman Road trip.

To be honest, I modified my Weber but hardly ever use the onboard low pressure fitting although it is there if I need it. I just carry a 5 lb lp tank with a regulator on it.

I know this write up is only for a couple specific bbq's but i had to ask because im at a loss

this guy works for my 17" blackstone to the quick connect on the RV. I would get a little longer hose if I purchased again though.

Nothing else needed. RV QC to blackstone brass port.

If you have a standard quick disconnect on the RV and have the required Quick connect adapter for the Blackstone griddle a standard RV LP quick connect hose should hook up without any issues.

Make sure the LP valve at the RV quick connect is turned off before trying to connect the hose.

If you are trying to modify things with the RV quick connect or with the Blackstone then all bets are off. Both work fine out of the box without modification.

hmmm, i wonder why mine didnt work then, i simply removed the hose with the regulator bought a gas line connector that would go into the new hoses qd, and then pressed the other gas end into the propane qd at the rv....i need to recheck what stove i have, i belief it is an adjustable tailgator combo...

Quick Connect - Blackstone 28-inch

I am the proud new owner of a Blackstone 28-inch grill.

As the OP noted, it comes with the built-in regulator.
Blackstone sells a hose that can be connected to the quick-connect, but only for the smaller models (17" and 22"), as noted in earlier posts.

My question:
What do I need to buy and do to connect the grill to the quick-connect?
My gut tells me that it would involve removing the existing hose w/built-in regulator and then ...
replace it with a longer hose without the regulator and with the quick-connect on one end and with some sort of standard connection on the other. But I'm terrified of not heeding the wisdom of this group.
