Out side grill

Hello all, we would like to add the Outside grill,the bracket is mounted to the TT, its the only thing the PO didn't buy,so any recommendations ?
the quick connect is there as well,looks like we need the grill and hanging bracket. Thanks will be watching for the responses.

This is an age old debate and one of personal preferrence. One thing Ithink we all agree is the the side mounted grills are not the best choice when it comes to grills. Having owned one I can say that the life span is short (2-3yrs) of late with the deflector plate rusting out on most of them. They are very hard to clean as well. The Camco SS version is better than the RVQ if you really want one.

Most of use use a Webber Q, Camp Chef, Coleman Roadtrips as well as afew other versions. All three above are multifuctional in that you can use variuos cooktops on each to expand your outdoor cooking. I cook almost everything and like the versatility of my Camp Chef. It is large, but there are smaller versions. All three can be adapted to go into your quick connect propane line. All three are only slightly more than the side mounted versions.

If you have the time and don't need until the spring then do some research on each.

This is my opinion as I am sure others will chime in.

+1 on the Weber Baby Q. I use the optional extended propane hose and 20# tank, mounted on the light weight table.

I only used the one that came with my 31DS one time and gave up on it. Went to a Char-Broil TRU-Infrared Grill2Go X200 - Model 12401734 this is a graet grill. but if you want that charcoal you can't beat a Weber.

Weber Q it is. Run it off of one of your 30# tanks with a selector regulator and you are in business. Store it in a big rubbermaid tote.
The RVQ is a dog. hard to clean, collects grease and unless you pressure wash it all the time the thing will stink

I have had a Coleman road trip for almost 7 years they are heavy but built well. My dad as a weber q both work well my is a little bigger and puts out more heat. But his is lighter.

No mater which grill you decide on I would not mount it on the side of the TT. I bought an Olympic from amazon ready to go for low pressure propane outlet on my TT and a 10' hose and I either set on on the picnic table or a folding table I take with us. I usually place the grill so it is just out from under the awning (smoke) and across from the TT entry door so it is very convenient. My Eagle came with the propane outlet under the rear bumper so I moved it so it is on the side between the tandems and the entry door so it is much more convenient and at the same time out of the way.

I agree with the others who say DO NOT attach any grill to the TT Sidewall. I have seen on a friend's TT, who used the RVQ for a couple seasons, the permanent discoloration to his sidewall from hot greasy air coming in contact with the TT. Its very simple to avoid this by not have any grill attached.

Further on my TT the bracket is under the awning. I imagine if I was to use a grill attached to it not only would it affect the side wall but also the awning.

As for what grill to get, when not using a charcoal grill (my preference), I use a Weber Q200 and love it.

I got the grill as an option. Its not the best location, I agree, but I use it at times. I always retract my awning.

What I use the bracket for, however, is an outdoor TV. Easy mod, I just drilled a couple of holes in a piece of wood, and put some hanging brackets on it. Perfect for outdoor movie night.

I used to use a Weber Baby-Q with the folding stand when we had a seasonal site. We now use that at home on the back porch. It's a very good grill. When we got the 2015 24RKS, we got it with the bumper mounted grill. It works well and is very convenient. It's away from the siding and 3 ft from the door, so easy to take food into the kitchen. It's also not under the awning. I like it much better than putting the grill on the picnic table like we have done in the past when we did not have a seasonal site.

As cra**y as the RVQ is, I continue to use it because I can't decide on a replacement. We like camping in critter/bear country, so we can't leave it out unattended. That makes a large grill really inconvenient, and the size of my family makes a small grill a problem as well. Still trying to find that "happy-medium". Agree with others about not hanging it off the side of the coach. When we ordered ours, I actually requested Jayco to not install the bracket, which they did.

The one from Jayco is well not worth it. I do like the back bumper but it needs to have a little resigning. This year I will look at the other manufacturers and maybe a change.

I use my rear bumper mounted grill. It works very well and the location is great. I simply cover it when I'm not there. This winter I placed it in a bag and it is stored under my trailer.

As I'm a seasonal site camper, the smell is not an issue. Also the location is on the rear bumper and not an issue as well.

I am a family of four, with two young children (6 and 9), and I want something I can easily get off the back of the truck, maybe in a plastic tote.

After reading all the responses, it is time to get rid of my Jayco side mounted grill.

FWIT At the campgrounds I have worked at, by far Weber Q is the "peoples" choice.. We have used ours for several years and love it.

We use the Jayco supplied side mounted BBQ regularly during the 5 months each winter we travel. It has cooked many meals - no problems.

I negotiated with my dealer for a bumper-mounted RVQ grill as part of my sale. I used it frequently for about 3 months before it started "flaming" around the control dial. And the warming rack (which I never used) was so close to the main grate that I could only use the front half. It tilted toward the front, but the drain was at the back, so it collected a LOT of grease. And it was impossible to clean! (Are we seeing design issues here?)
The "flaming" around the dial got so bad, I was afraid it was going to blow up. I finally tossed it in favor of a Brinkmann table-top from Home Depot that I set on a table behind my TT (only a couple of steps from my kitchen door). I really like it. Has a nice large, easy-access grilling surface and virtually disassembles for easy cleaning. Only problem is, it uses the small disposable propane bottles, and the control dial is on the regulator. One of these days, I'll take it into a propane dealer and see if they can come up with a new dial and quick-connect fittings, so I can use the regulated outlet under my back bumper. Will also have to figure out a way to adapt it to my bumper-mount bracket, so I can ditch the table . . . one of these days.
