Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Recipe Ingredients:

2 cup water (Edit: Next time I will use Brown Gravy in a jar/can for the liquid)

1 (.7 ounce) package dry Italian-style
salad dressing mix

1 (1 ounce) package ranch dressing mix

1 (.75 ounce) packet dry brown gravy
mix

1 (3.5 pound) boneless beef chuck roast

Directions:

1. Whisk together the water, Italian dressing mix, ranch dressing mix, and brown gravy mix together in a bowl until smooth. Place the beef roast into a slow cooker, and pour the sauce over top.

2. Cook on Low until the roast is easily pierced by a fork, 6 to 8 hours.

We use our big covered electric skillet all the time for meals here... Set on low and enjoy the good smells when cooking as well as when eating...

I like to use a decent red wine when cooking pot roast. Sometimes, we have a little left over to actually put into the meal, OK, never! He-he. Thanks for the recipe.

I am making this recipe right now in the TT. We are living in the RV while the house is being remodeled. A little bit of an adjustment. LOL.

Well I have to share this recipe. We use it just about every time we camp. Makes a great all in one meal. Well almost...some hot biscuits on the side are great.

Large crock-pot
2 pound roast
6 medium potatoes
1 small bag of those mini carrots
1 can of green beans (french cut or regular)
1 can of corn (We use sweet corn)
Salt and pepper
Two beef bouillon cubes

DW does not like any other spices other than salt and pepper. I sneak in a little garlic powder.

Put the roast in the crock-pot and cover with water. At some salt, pepper, garlic salt, and the bouillon cubes. Cook until brown. (I don't have at time I just cook it till I think it is good) Slice or cube the potatoes. With or without skin your choice. Add them and the carrots. Cook until they are soft. The roast is usually falling apart by this time. About 30 minutes before you eat drain the beans and corn. Dump them in and stir but not too much as the potatoes will fall apart.

Serve in a bowl with a biscuit.

Stop it already! It's 10 pm and now I'm hungry again. Thanks a lot. LOL You could put pot roast in an old shoe and I would still eat it. Love that stuff.

Last week we did a pork shoulder (about a 6 pounder) in the slow cooker...awesome.

Put a rub on and then into the cooker with a can of coke. 7 hours later took it out drained the cooker pulled the pork and put back in with about 8 oz of Sweet Baby Rays stired in. Another hour and done.

Baged and froze the leftovers.

Have been making beef roast in the slow cooker with this recipe.
Sliced onions in the bottom of the slow cooker. Put the roast in. Sprinkle with one package dry au jus and one package of dry Hidden Valley ranch. No water. Cook on low for about 6-7 hours. Unbelievable.
