Great item to have. Still waiting for a camping version for my scout trips!

I took a cup of the Green Mountain Coffee, Wild Mountain Blueberry to work one morning and drank it at the office. It was so good I was tempted to get back in the car and drive 30 miles back home just to get another cup!

My spouse and I kid each other about "camp coffee." We make it in an old percolator and never know how it will turn out (sometimes good, sometimes not so good) but we enjoy it. We rationalize it because we are camping...everything isn't supposed to be like at home!

One thing that we do take along is our Soda Club carbonated water machine. We don't make any pop-flavored drinks, we just like "fizzy water." Sometimes we flavor it with a tinge of lemon or orange flavoring. Zero calories, refreshing, and it takes no electricity or propane to run.

We too have the Kuerig coffee maker in the camper. It has to be good no matter where I am after drinking firehouse coffee forever, sometimes I need GOOD stuff... LOL

Could not agree more! We have the B70 in the house, but a mini for the camper, which still takes quite a while to fill a small cup. My mom's B70 bit the dust over the weekend and it was out of warranty. The CSR offered her the option to buy a new B70 for $79. They never really got into the k-cups idea, so I had her get it for me to stick in our new camper. Not a bad deal for $79!

Wish I could find something comparable for boondocking. I hate perc'd coffee and not a fan of the french press. I've actually found the folgers individual bags (like tea bags) not horrible in a pinch. Luckily we only do a couple trips a year without electric!

I must be spoiled or my wife is, haven't figure that one out yet. We have the ones with the oversized water capacities on the and the filters in the water tank. Must be me I'm going to guess.

Must be I am too - I'm too lazy to have anything smaller than the max water capacity - who wants to constantly fill that reservoir? Also a yes to the water filter in it.

As a side note, my new discovery: dunkin donuts new pumpkin k cups plus Bailey's triple sweet cream creamer = mug of hot pumpkin pie. Perfect for September.

When I think of all those used Kuerig, or Kuerig style cups filling up the landfills, I cringe.
We use the percolator. I've gotten good at making the coffee that way over the years.

We also use (and love) our percolator. We think it makes fantastic coffee. Most importantly, the percolated coffee reminds me of my grandma. Her and grandpa used nothing else even with the modern conveniences that came their way. If I could of had one thing (well, two) from my grandparents, it would of been that percolator (who knows how old it was) and my g-ma's cast iron skillet that she received as a wedding present in 1934! She passed away 2 years ago at the age of 98!

Well, I think you should go find a nice new Lodge Cast Iron Skillet, and pass it down to the next generation.
I have a few cast iron pans, they work great, and a cast iron dutch oven too. I use the dutch over a lot.
I was using an old pyrex glass percolator but the basket broke. I really like those best because you can see how the coffee looks before you pour it.

AND CRABMAN...Maybe a little Baileys is added to that cup of coffee!

In his defense, it's for items you don't *need*. I for one, after packing, driving, setting up and wrangling two yappy, bickering daughters the whole time, *need* the alcohol. It's downright critical at that point.

I also have my grandmother's cast iron dutch oven, which I'm willing to bet was at least her mother's as well. She passed in 1973, two years before I was born; it's quite old. My mom gave me her frying pan too, but she took it back to make my dad a pineapple upside down cake and hasn't given it back! I do have a little skillet and a grill pan that I bought from ebay, but they don't get much use. I don't take them camping - all that cast iron really adds up in weight!

K-cups can be recycled. DW recycles everything. I guess it helps offset the carbon we are burning at 7mpg. Not a booze drinker but wondering if an open container in an RV is concidered such per the law?

My Keurig Mini IS a require item for me as well as the Dark Magic coffee. I do have some Breakfast Blend for my ex when she goes with me. I also have a couple of the refillable Keurig cups and I use Community Dark Roast in those so I'm not filling the land fill up all the time.

Concerning alcohol content mentioned above, Bailey's Irish Creme is great in a cup in the morning. I'm retired so going to work after isn't a problem.

I don't use a Kuerig in the camper, but I do at home. I use the plastic doohinkey that you fill with your own coffee, and I also re-use the k-cups. I tear the old cover off, wash them out with a toothbrush, refill with whatever coffee I happen to have, cover them with a double layer of tin foil. Some I've refilled probably at least 6 times and they still work. I got tired of thinking I couldn't waste that coffee in a perc, so I'd drink it, no matter how old it was. With my Kuerig, it's always a fresh cup.
