Cool Tripod Cooking

My hubby bought me a set of iron poles that can be set up for tripod cooking or the cross bar style (not sure of technical name!). I bought a round grill grate directly from Weber (very inexpensive) and we used for first time during our last trip. Loved it! No more charred meat since we can control the heat by moving the chains up. It will also hold a skillet for frying bacon and eggs, etc...I'm looking forward to trying the cross bar style. Looks like perfect way to use my dutch oven.

We have a thing like that (aluminum though) that my husband bought about 15 years ago. I also like being able to raise the grate up with the chains. And it's really handy for holding the lantern at night!

That's a great tip! We just set the tripod aside, when not in use, and we can easily attach a hook for same purpose.
