Using Sidekick Grill

When we purchased our 2011 J23 it came with the outside mounted grill. I tried it a few times, seems to work ok, cooks well, gets hot enougth etc. I cut off the top tier of the grates as someone elses mentioned, they are just to low and get in the way. My problem was that sometimes if the wind is just right, or the food is extra smokey, I would rather have the grill further away from the camper, but don't want to take two grills. I found the solution! If you turn the sidekick grill wall mounting bracket sideways, the rods will slide into the bottom part of the grill brackets making the grill into a table top grill. I got a propane tank regulator and hose assembly from Camping World, hooked it up to a small 5 lb propane tank, an now have a portable grill I can take anywhere. No where in my Sidekick manual is this option mentioned.

I already had the tank as I used it for my grill and as a backup tank for my old pop up camper. All I needed was the hose/regulator assembly. $30.00.

Once again someone has solved a problem for me. Grill mounted to feather 226, left smoke on sidewall. DW says my BBQ skills are the cause.

Domestic bliss around the corner.

Dave.

To make nachos on the grill all you do is line grate with foil get a package of corn tortillas cut each round tortillas into 4 pices put on the foil for 40 seconds and flip them for another 40 seconds till crisp, grill must be very hot. remove once you have a quite a few cooked. now take cooked ground beef cooked with taco seasoning onions cut up in small pcs & jalapeno peppers cut up and sharp cheeder cheese covering the crisp chips you made early cook till cheese melts on low as not to burn. Thats it grilled nachos
