Heres where I mounted a 28" TV in my 222!

Hope this helps a few of you guys. I just finished installing a Vizio 28" over the cabinet instead of setting one ON the cabinet. I will let the pics speak for themselves, but basically there is a stud in the corner so I cut off a piece of the trim to fit the mount flush with the wall.

The mount is this one I picked up at menards very strong and reasonably priced under $30...

it has a good amount of friction in the arm to keep the TV against the wall for the most part.

I mounted it with about 2 inches top and bottom clearance on the TV itself


fits perfect behind the charging station, also helps keep it folded up sitting behind the charger protrusion. My next step is 2 small eye screws and bungee cord to retain it even better in transit

I had to grind away on the mount plate slightly so it would not cover a few of the inputs

Here is a huge bonus, this mount allows me to swing the TV to be able to view in the front bed without even putting one in the bedroom area! Only downside with this is making sure you swing it out of the way real quick to get into the bathroom


I pulled with probably 80 pounds of force on this mount and it will not move. I almost wanted to put a 32" here but I think the 28 is a perfect fit.

This seems to be a great spot to mount my tv but I'm still feeling concerned about the strength of the "so called" stud in the wall. I really wish that I had a picture of what it looks like behind the panel, just to be sure. I would just prefer to do it right the first time, with no mishaps. I still thank you for the pics and your mounting location. Its looks good.

Update on my table. I mounted bracket on corner also and we camp on some rough roads and still solid. Arm comes out to see TV in bed or with door open you can watch from outside a little it. Wish I could post pic.

Looking to mount the TV in my bedroom tonight. I have Jayco 26X1, the mount location is noted and I have the plans. I know there is a 1/2 inch piece of plywood at the location. Obviously the 2" screws that came with the mount won't work, but will 3/4" screws be ok to hold the mount in place during the haul. 32" TV will be attached.

I mounted a 32" above the cabinet and have a 28" in the sleeping area in our 222.

OK, this may sound like a silly question but do you need to secure this at all when you are travelling or does it stay in place pretty well without that? I envision the TV arm swinging around as I'm travelling down the road.

The swing arm is lockable and it stays put until I pull the release pin. Also the tv can swing around to the bed area for night time watching in bed. Plus it cool when playing the Xbox too.��

That looks like the perfect set up. I just purchased a 222 and am looking to do the same. Did you email Jayco for the plans? What is the name of the mount you are using?

what correction/repairs have you made to the wimpy panel where the ac outlet?

Any chance mounting a TV in either of these locations could impact warranty? I love both of these Tv setups but what it be careful with regards to warranty.

The warranty for what? The wall itself?
I mounted my tv brackets in the center of the 2 tv areas as per the factory stickers. I have a 32" tv in both spots.

Well, unfortunately the 2018 doesn’t have the sticker on that locale- only in the bedroom. I wonder if they reinforced that area in 2019 models. Probably just being over cautious since my dealer told me be very careful in the first two years with personal modifications as it can impact warranty.

What brand mount did you use? I see you also mounted a backer board. Was it something you made and stained or bought? Nice job!

Just knock on the wall and you will be able to tell where there is a back board. My tv mounts came with 1 1/2" screws but I used 1 1/4" to keep from poking through the walls. Not really following what your dealer is saying. To be honest, I would never let anyone else work on my stuff anyway. I just fix everything myself so I don't have to be without my trailer for months at a time.

Just make sure you use a support arm that locks or have a way of locking the TV to the wall while in transit. Certainly don't want a TV flying around while your traveling. Not all arms lock, RV designed ones do. Or...install a strap while installing the arm so you can lock it down.
