Jayco 4212 Trailer Ground Clearance

We recently purchased a 4212 and on our first trip, I grounded the rear bumper at the base of a steep (aprox 30 degree) uphill residential street. Since the ground clearance of the rear bumper isn't very high and the trailer is so long, I think that his could easily happen again. Has anyone raised the trailer or installed casters to the bottom of the back frame to protect from this issue?

A similar issue has been discussed on this forum, but not with a unit like yours. Hopefully someone with a similar trailer will have some information.

I have had a 4212 for a year now, good luck. I hope your experience is better than what we have had. As for the "grounding", I have had it do that also. I have learned to approach severe angles on an angle vs going straight in to it. A word of caution, you have Westlake tires! Beware of uneven wear patterns, we have had to replace 2 already. Westlake/Jayco will not warranty the tires due to wear patterns. They are China Bombs and they are ticking. I have a 30 ft.+ Jay Feather (very low ground clearance) and I removed the skids (worn down) and installed Grizzly HD Casters (#59100) on Amazon and they perform well. Rolling performs better then scraping) Works perfect while in a right or left turn with the combo.
