Jayco v222 LED lights keep dimming
Hello,
I have had my 2016 v222 in the dealer more than I have used it.
The awning LED lights keep dimming automatically after 4 minutes after turning them on, then within thirty seconds after each try. My dealer has tried everything but I am getting tired of taking it back every weekend for "possible" fix. They see nothing wrong because they won't look at them at night. Has anyone else had this issue and have a fix?
Thanks
I can add videos if necessary but a 5 minute video may be to much for here

Welcome to the forum.
Is this with the rig on 'shore power' or strictly on batteries when boondocking?

Thanks for the quick reply. It happens either on shore or battery, and all other electric devices on or off.
I have a Surge Guard Model 34830 in line between shore power and the trailer. Not using it is the only thing I have not tried but I don't think that would be the cause of the problem. The dealer called and said there is a small fuse between the switch and the LED's that might be doing this. Luckily I am still under warranty.

Fixed
The company found a fuse hidden behind the power panel that was getting hot. it was a 2.5 amp and they replaced it with a 3. It seems to be holding for now

Thanks for the update. A 'hidden' fuse seems odd, but that info could help someone else in the future.

Is your LED light still staying bright? I thought I was crazy about mine dimming when I first got it home until I read your post. Checked behind panel and mine already has a
5 amp fuse in it.

Dimming LEDs
We had exactly the same problem I took a video and showed it to a local dealer since the unit was under warranty they simply replaced the LED strip and I have not had problems cents .

Define... Everything?
Did they change the LED strip? Controller? Dimmer Switch (If applicable).
My limited experience with LEDs is that they have a very different failure pattern then a traditional light bulb. They flicker, dim, strobe to name a few oddities.

If it is under warranty, then it probably makes little difference to them if they swap parts all day long. They will just pass that cost onto Jayco, if all they did was a diagnosis ask them to swap the strip first.

I am having a similar issue. My awning lights work just fine when on battery power. Once I plug into shore power or start the generator, they go dim after about 30 seconds. This only seems to affect the awning lights. Dealer replaced the awning lights and it did not resolve the issue. Can you be more specific about the location of the fuse?
