Location of Generator Exhaust Pipe

Why did Jayco engineers figure the best place for the generator exhaust pipe to end would be to locate it directly in front of the storage door which has the Universal Docking Station inside and your stored items? If you are running the generator while setting up or breaking camp, all the heat and fumes are directed at you. Has anyone modified this exhaust point? Seems like extending the pipe another 18" or so would get it away from this area and not effect anything else. Thanks

There shouldn't be any reason an 18" extension couldn't be added, and it might help somewhat with any noise.
Many owners also use a Gen-Turi system when in close proximity to others and deadly exhaust gases present problems.
