Seismic Wave 412W

I am interested in this rig. I'll be new to the Toy Hauler deal.

Anyone have this rig, or similar? My TV is a Ram 3500 SRW.

Is this a rig that needs a dually?

The 355 Seismic wave may be more suited for my TV, but I'm wondering if I the 412W is comfortable with my current TV. I'm trying to stay with a 2 axle toy hauler, but this 412W is on the lighter side for the 3 axle rigs that I have seen.

Thanks.

Your truck has a GCWR of 25,000#....I'm not sure what rear axle weight you have...I know you have 3.42 gearing if it's an automatic, but don't know if you have the 68RFE or..the Aisin HD tranny...(more HP & TQ)

The 412 has a dry weight of 13,840 with a GVW of 19,000#...a dry pin weight of 3115 right off the bat that could hit 4K.. I wouldn't tow That TH with anything less than a dually....but that's just my preference based on weights of the 412.

More realistic would be the 355 with a GVW of 16,500#... It's the weight of 5er I towed with truck in my sig before purchasing the Jayco in my sig. I prefer a dually due to all of my towing for the past years has been in the mountains; some of which has been on steep, mountainous, curvy secondary roads.

Thanks for your feed back.

I'm not sure why the online printed specs for Ram show 3.42 rear end for my truck. The window sticker on the truck is 3.73 rear end. It also has the 68RFE. I have not been able to find any towing specs that line up with my configuration. The 2015 Ram brochure shows a GCWR of 27,300 with this configuration. But if I search online to find the towing specs for my vehicle, there are no specs for this engine, tranny with 3.73 axle (only 3.43 specs). I'm not sure what this means for my towing, maybe nothing.

I think your right that the 412 Seismic Wave will put me overweight.

Only gearing put in a 3500 or a 3500 SRW is/was the 3.42...IF you got the 3.73, that would be awesome, and you would be the only one I know on this forum or even the cummins forum that has the 3.73 in a 3500 SRW.. Are you sure about the configuration? That would make sense about higher GCWR. The 68RFE is the standard automatic. The Aisin is the HD tranny.

I have a 4112. Prior I had the 3914. Both 16k dry max 20. I have a DRW 3500 14 Ram. Wouldn't tow it with anything else. If I had to do it again I might have gone with a 4500 or 5500. The stability of the DRW is a huge factor. Just my $0.02.

Agree, at the least, a 3500 dully.. Do you have the Aisin? What gearing?

I have the Aisin with 4.10, extra HP & TQ and higher GCWR with 4.10.
