My flooring has pretty much fixed itself with the high heat these past few days. Wondering if I should use a hairdryer to soften the floor and smooth it out.
Same thing happened to me with my Ultra.

Subscribing to the thread.

About to pull the plug on a 222 and glad I caught this thread. Thanks, folks.. And sorry to all my fellow motorcyclists that have floor damage. I was thinking I'd put the bike on a carpet and that would be enough, guess that's not necessarily the case.

Not questioning anyone's method of securing their bike, is there any chance the floor damage is a result of cranking the bikes down too tight? And was everyone using 2 or 4 straps at the time of the damage?

I used 2 straps attached to the handlebars in the front and 2 straps attached to the frame in the rear. The flooring is linoleum and very soft in the heat. Just the weight of the bike on its kickstand for 10 seconds is enough to wrinkle the floor. I put carpet under the bike and I believe that the carpet caused the rear of the bike to slip to the left, loosening the straps which caused the bike to fall. Since I bought a $20 Stall Mat at Trailer Supply Co, I've had no issues. I tried to post a pic of the setup, but I'm a forum newb
