Cargo Carrying Capacity sticker question

On my Alante 26AY the cargo carrying capacity sticker says a full load of water equals 322lbs of cargo at 8.3lbs/gal. That would equal around 38 gallons of water. The specs say this rv has a 70 gallon tank which I'm pretty darn sure is correct. Our old rv had 50 gallons. This one has a big tank under there and takes a long time to fill. Two of us just went a week with refilling.

Is the sticker wrong or does the water weight not get counted the same as all the other weight? Or am I missing something else? It doesn't make sense to me.

Sure sounds like a misprint. Contact JAYCO, since someone may have grabbed the wrong decals.

The 2016 Alante has a 53 gallon capacity. I just looked it up.

Jayco is wonderful at mis-printing stickers. Check out the yellow sticker on this rig:

The spec I have for the 2016 shows 70+ gallons of freshwater on the 26AY the 26ax has 33. I'll have to measure the tank and make sure.

I've seen brochures giving both tank sizes.

Well it is definitely a 70 gallon tank, I just measured it. Actually that 70 gallon tank was a selling point for us. In all my research before buying this rig it was always shown as 70 gallons.

I guess it really is no big deal since GVWR is what really matters.

I thought maybe somebody here might know what was going on with the numbers on the sticker, but alas we're all just guessing when it comes down to it.

I don't think it's the wrong sticker since it has my vin number on it.

The sticker is required by federal law so I doubt they willy nilly print them up. I did find that an error on this sticker is grounds for a vehicle recall.

I just checked the two brochures that I downloaded, one shows 3 floor plans 26Y, 31L and 31V. It shows the 26Y with a 32.75 gal fresh water tank. the other one shows 4 floor plans, 26AX, 26AY, 31AL and 31AV. It shows the AY with a 72 gal fresh water tank. I guess I'll have to contact Jayco to see which one is in our coach.

Take a picture of it for a permanent record. They don't last forever.

They missed a 1 in front of the 4. If it's the 18K chassis then it sould be around 14K unladen. With or without a bit of gas, passenger.....ect. What's left over is your cargo carrying capacity. Then 5K of towing. Total gross vehicle combined weight of 23K.

That's why I posted the link to the 26XS for sale above where Murff took the actual link for the picture.

This sticker is for a Class 'C', and it looks like Jayco flipped the CCC and vehicle weight numbers.

I got you now. I thought it was his sticker as the water weight was similar to the op.
Makes you wonder how they can be so far off.
