Class A Quality

How do forum members feel about the quality of a Jayco Class 'A'? I ask b/c it doesn't look like they've been in the game that long, and given they are building the house AND the cab for a Class 'A' I'm wondering how they're doing.

Anybody know if they bought another Class 'A' builder and absorbed them in order to create a Jayco specific line?

Is Jayco essentially a newbie with regards to Class 'A' motorhomes?

JAYCO built class "A"s back in early 2000 then got of the market due to low sales. They bought TRAVEL SUPREME around 2011 and started the ENTEGRA line so they are not newbies when it comes to class "A"s.

Actually, if I remember correctly, all the motorized is now built in the same plant.

Jayco Quality

Jayco precepts are reasonably built and have been improving tremendously since their return to the class A market in 2014. If you can afford one purchase a Newmar or a Tiffin - they are significantly better quality.

Definitely can't afford that kind of coach. I'm just checking to see if I'm buying similar quality as my Greyhawk if I move up to a 'A' next year.

I'm with you. My 2005 Grayhawk is not worth as much as it should be with the improvements and there is a big distance pricewise between it and the Precept we like. That difference has to be cash. At my age no more bills for My Dear Bride if I should wake up on the wrong side of the grass. But the Grayhawk has served me well for the last 12 years and not to much wrong with it except age. I have to lie about the years at some parks but they can't tell by looking at it. So come on lottery. Maybe I have to buy a ticket. LOL

So a lot has changed in 4 years. Here I am, w/ a Precept on order. Hoping the quality has continued to improve with time !

Put me in the + column for the Precept. Sure, there have been some issues, but with one exception, which was covered by Jayco's warranty and repaired at a local Ford dealership (had to drop the fuel tank and replace an evaporative return fitting broken during assembly of the coach onto the frame), all have been minor oversights in assembly, and all I discovered and handled myself.

Just be sure you get a thorough PDI. And enjoy your new coach - love the view out the windshield!
