Cracked Roof??
I have had a persistent water leak into the outside entertainment center, and on 2 occasions into the coach since I bought my Alante. Both the selling dealer, as well as my local outlet (Camping World) have tried no less than 4 times to find and stop it without luck. I decided to get up on the roof and inspect every inch of it. To my surprise (and horror) I found a 3" crack in the fiberglass radius of the roof behind the rear awning head. This is not visible from the ground or when standing on the roof. To see it I had to get on my hands and knees and look behind the awning roller. It is a hairline crack but there are a couple of scuff marks that look like impact marks. As the coach has leaked from day one I can only assume the damage was done on the production line or during transport.
It will be interesting to see what both my dealer and Jayco has to say about both the cause and the method of repair. So glad I have a paperwork trail back to the day I picked it up, when it leaked in a rainstorm at the RV park we were in and I had the dealer send out a tech to find it. I WILL NOT settle for some Dicor on it, needs a heat sealed patch of the same material or they can put on a whole new roof.
