down shifts on hills

i have a 2016 precept when going down hill over 50 it does a down shift all by itself and cannot get it out of the lower gear until i put it in neutral and then back in to drive i don't think this is normal does anybody know whats up with that?

It will up shift on it's own but takes longer than we would like. I will brake a little and then accelerate and it will usually upshift then. I always do the mountain passes in "Tow" mode and the shift points are much more agreeable.

Charles , do you use the tow haul mode when encountering hills?

I found that once I began using the tow haul I don't need to use
The brakes very much , even on significant declines..

i will try that next time out thank you,i am also going to order that dyno tuner every body is talking about they say it will improve the tranni shifting.

Before you run out and spend $500 on the 5 Star Tune make sure your '16 has the 6 speed transmission. The 5 Star Tune was engineered for the earlier A's with the 5 speed transmission and may prove to be not worth the money spent.

I believe they have tunes for the 6 speed as well. Not sure if you get the same level of improvement compared to those of us w/ only 5 gears.
