Full body paint on a new Alante?

Has anyone looked into seeing if they will do a paint instead of the decals on a new Alante?

Just curious as to why Jayco doesn't offer that as an option.

It has been my understanding that, on Precept and Alante product lines, Jayco won't do ANYTHING that isn't on their published list of options. But that shouldn't prevent you from attempting to get a full-body-paint quote from the outside supplier who does that for the Precepts. My 2014 Melbourne had a sticker inside a cabinet door that identified who that was. At that time, MSRP for the paint option was $5000. Now on Precept price list it has ballooned to an eye-popping $12,500. I think it's safe to conclude that Jayco doesn't want to mess with full-body-paint, especially on their entry level (and price sensitive) coach.

I was surprised when my wife said that she wanted the paint option on our 2017 Precept and thought it was worth the extra cost. Dealers haven't been charging the full $12,500 price premium; nowhere close.

When I bought my 2016 31ul precept I paid 8,000. They did a beautiful job. No regrets.

I would estimate that we paid ~$8000 also. There is no way to precisely determine that part of The Deal. Our Summer Wood paint job gets a lot of compliments; we love it.

I learned something interesting when at the Service Center in March. For the Precepts that get the standard paint job at the Jayco factory, aiming the headlights is done as part of that process. But when the coach is sent out to the outside supplier to get the optional paint, like as not the headlights won't get aimed. Falls through the cracks. That was the case with ours for sure.

They don't offer the same options since it is considered an entry level unit. Just like the separation between Redhawk and Greyhawk.

At least the 2016 Alante had full paint as an option for $8k. We were really tempted to buy a very slightly used 31v in Arizona but after the flight, gas to drive it home and loss of the 2 yr warranty we opted for a new one with the red decal scheme.

That is very beautiful. Unusual combination of colors.
