Large drawer modification in Precept 35UN

I found the large deep drawer below the TV in the Precept 35UN to have a lot of waster space. I also wanted to have a drawer for storage of dishes. We made a extra drawer for the top half of the drawer.

Thanks Darrell and Mary. It really works sell for us. You don't have that huge drawer in the 31 UL. Do you have any problems with the drawers under the stove staying closed. Out 31 had an issue with that.

Darrell and Mary,
Why was it necessary to add the 1x4 on a slide? We are picking up are 29UM next week and am curious. Or, is this needed on the longer unit?

In 2 1/2 years we have upgraded from large popup, to hybrid and now the motorhome. I can't wait to get in this thing and go, go, go. I have only driven a 24ft. class C motorhome while in Alaska in open spaces so this should be quite an experience down here in the lower 48.

Marie and Jerry, sorry I've taken so long. Must have missed the notice of your question. Yes, we have the 2 large drawers under the cook top. They are pretty full with the lower one occupied with cookware (heavy). We had problems with the lower drawer coming out while we travel. I found the same latches that are installed at the factory @ CW and installed one to help hold the drawer. We also have a square ottoman that we set in front of the drawers while on the road and the drawers stay in now. As a side note, we use one of our runners (with rubber back) to set the ottoman on so even if the drawer wants to push open, the ottoman doesn't move.
Again, real nice mod on your 35. Glad you are enjoying your rig.

Darrell and Mary, you should be baffled! It was Marie and Jerry who posted the picture of the 1x4, sorry!!

Thanks for your information. I printed out that PDI information a couple of weeks ago and have been going over it every now and then with hopes that it sinks in and makes the job easier.

Marie and Jerry,

Why did you add a 1x4 to the slide? We are picking up our 29UM next week and was wondering if this is a necessary fix. Ours is the 29UM.

Hi Bonnie, Sorry I missed this. We were on a cruise without decent wifi. We installed the 1X4 in the back of the cabinet for a sturdier place to attach the drawer glides. This was a modification for the large drawer in the 35 UN or 35S. I do not think this drawer is in the 29's. Have a great time in your Precept.
