Newbie has a towing/car problem

We have a Tow-it 2 tow dolly to pull a 2014 Chevrolet Spark (automatic, front wheel drive). Got the car loaded this morning no issues, then went back to the car, released the emergency brake and put in neutral. But I can't remove the key from the ignition!! Help please???

Your front wheels are on the dolly, correct? Put it in Park take out key. You shouldn't have to be in neutral.

Yes, if you have a tow dolly and the front wheels are off the ground on a dolly. The rear wheels are basically just hubs with bearings and not connected to the transmission in any way.

If that's a Demco dolly and the dolly wheels turn. Don't forget to pull that pin on the dollys steering link ( located in the center). It should have a black poly handle with a quick clip underneath to release it. If you forget it like I have, you could bend the tongue of sharp turns.

Make sure the parking/emergency brake is completely released after you load and secure the car, it does work on the rear brakes of the vehicle.

Unfortunately, you just hit another issue with the dolly. Once the car is loaded and tilted up, the lockdown automatically locks. Drive around a bit, hit a bump and it disengages itself. Should it do that?

No, that's not right. There should be a wedge shape spring loaded latch with another v shape looking arm that drops and locks over it. Is it rusty or something (like a broken spring) and not fully extending? Can you post a picture, that would help.
