Positive experience with Good Sam Roadside Assistance
Part of our departure routine is to check the air pressure in the tires. I have been running 95psi in our Michelin 235 R80 22.5 tires. Gauged the left rear outer and it said zero psi. Not believing the gauge I thumped the tire, sure enough it was out of air.
Started airing up the tire with my compressor, stopped at 60 psi to watch the gauge. The tire lost 5 psi in about 10 minutes so I knew things were serious.
We had just renewed our Good Sam Roadside Assistance last week so DW suggested calling them to see if they could help. Sure enough after a few minutes and three different people I reached the Good Sam Tire Pros who found a local service, Tiretown in Myrtle Beach, SC. The service tech arrived in 45 minutes and found the problem in 5 minutes, a self tapping screw, one inch long with a square head drive, wonder where that came from?
The Tiretown tech was able to pull the tire off the rim, install a patch and reinstall the tire in under an hour. Great lesson for me, I always thought the wheel and tire would need to be pulled. Total cost $93.50, I was expecting several hundred dollars cost.
So kudos to Good Sam Roadside Assistance, Good Sam Tire Pros and Tiretown in Myrtle Beach, SC.
