Positive experience with Good Sam Roadside Assistance

Part of our departure routine is to check the air pressure in the tires. I have been running 95psi in our Michelin 235 R80 22.5 tires. Gauged the left rear outer and it said zero psi. Not believing the gauge I thumped the tire, sure enough it was out of air.

Started airing up the tire with my compressor, stopped at 60 psi to watch the gauge. The tire lost 5 psi in about 10 minutes so I knew things were serious.

We had just renewed our Good Sam Roadside Assistance last week so DW suggested calling them to see if they could help. Sure enough after a few minutes and three different people I reached the Good Sam Tire Pros who found a local service, Tiretown in Myrtle Beach, SC. The service tech arrived in 45 minutes and found the problem in 5 minutes, a self tapping screw, one inch long with a square head drive, wonder where that came from?

The Tiretown tech was able to pull the tire off the rim, install a patch and reinstall the tire in under an hour. Great lesson for me, I always thought the wheel and tire would need to be pulled. Total cost $93.50, I was expecting several hundred dollars cost.

So kudos to Good Sam Roadside Assistance, Good Sam Tire Pros and Tiretown in Myrtle Beach, SC.

Timely info for us. Our 'free' year of elite membership with good sam ends in a few months and I'm considering moving my Truck and Camper over to them for insurance + Roadside. I've been with progressive for 10 years and am really getting over the annual rate increases (perfect driving record, no claims). Nice to hear.

When I was a kid we used to camp at Myrtle Beach and Hilton Head, will have to get back out there one of these days

Had an experience last year on the back roads in Arizona. TV's TPMS gave a flashing warning. Pulled over quickly and heard loud hissing from left rear tire going flat quickly. Couldn't get the 7 lug tire off so I called Roadside Assistance and in 50 minutes the repair truck shows up and changes tire out for the spare and I was on my way. I have all 4 of my vehicles insured thru Good Sam and with the Roadside Assistance. So far I've had good service and pay less than I did with Progressive and others, plus I have peace of mind.

Happy RVing,
Jeff

Love Good Sam Roadside Assistance. Service is great and much cheaper the CAA. Have used them twice now and never had an issue.
