Precept Converter Hum

On our last couple of outings, I've noticed when lying in bed above the electric converter and shore power input in the basement, a slight electrical hum underneath the rig.

Has anyone else with a Precept 31UL noticed such?

I called Jayco today and they said the hum is from the converter and is normal, nothing to worry about.

What do you think?

Thank you,

McGarrett

Could also be a slight hum from the transfer switch. Had that in our SENECA, no biggie unless it keeps you awake.

I don't hear a hum at all. But my transfer switch doesn't work. Part ordered.

Have the same hum. I am not sure but I believe it wasn't there when we picked up the rig from the dealer in Jan '15. I have the feeling it started 2 weeks later.

We also own a trailer here in Europe and it also has this converter hum. I suppose it's okay as long as it doesn't keep you awake, indeed.

We just picked up our new 2015 31ul on Friday , we have the same hum in the bedroom too. When we first got home and pluged it into power the hum starts out as a high pitch hum that drives our dogs crazy , after about an hour or so it turns into a softer hum that does not seem to bother the dogs but it does bug me.

We've had our 31UL for 5 months and have only had it out one night(it's in storage for the winter). I don't recal a hum when we went out but I'll be on the lookout this spring when we hit the road. I'm sure if I do hear it it will drive me crazy and I won't be able to get the sound out if my mind

My Transfer switch doesn't hum...because it just took a giant crap.
Jayco is overnighting me a new one and paying to have a mobile guy come and install it. Unit is dead as a doornail sitting in the driveway.

My converter was bad within the first outing on my current unit. Under load in the charge and high charge state it would let off a high pitch squeal until it went back to float.

The hum could be normal in the transformers, but a squeal under load is not and should be replaced under warranty.
