Thanks for the pictures of the doghouse removed. Would love to hear and see some pictures of the clamps you are going to use to re-attach the doghouse.

Jayco definitely did poor and short-sighted design job on the doghouse.

Best thing I did to make my Alante better!

Here are some pics of my project of dampening the sound of my Alante 31P. I pulled up the carpet to find bare wood and metal in the front half of the cab and a thin layer of fiber on the back half. There were many gaps in the fit of the doghouse allowing sound and heat to come in. After removing the carpet I placed Noico sound deadener liner on the entire floor of the cab area and on the doghouse. The liner has a self adhesive backing. This is a good product and had the best cost on Amazon. On top of this I added Second Skin Luxury Liner (3/4”) and attached it with 2-sided carpet tape.. I then lined the inside of the doghouse with FatMat Hoodliner. After this was done I reinstalled a good quality carpet. I glued it down on the doghouse and used 2-sided carpet tape and staples on the rest of the installation. Throughout this project I inspected loose wiring and used a lots of zip ties to prevent rattling. This was an important part of sound deadening since there are a lot of loose wires that rattled while driving. I would grab wires and shake them and more often than not the would rattle against the structure especially under the radio panel facia. I am so happy with the outcome. We took a 700 mile trip and the sound level was so comfortable. We could talk and hear the radio for a change. Best thing I did so far to my RV but it was a lot of work. I was worth it.
Sorry about the orientation of the photos, editing not my gift!
Good luck and hope you all find this useful!

Just curious what everyone is using to insulate the underside of the doghouse that the engine heat won't soften the adhesive and come off and fall on the engine?

Doghouse exterior

I only applied sound insulation to the exterior of the doghouse (i.e. the side away from the engine compartment.

Awesome project and write up. Thanks for taking the time to post it. We just completed a very noisy 4100 mile journey in our new 36T. This project is in my top 5. Good winter task. Thanks for the pics.

doghouse removal

Greetings again. FYI on another thread I posted how I removed doghouse and placements of screws. Its listed on the "Doghouse removal" thread.
Also a typo on my last post should say "It was worth it" and not "I was worth it".
Although I guess I am worth it too
