Soundbar for Bedroom TV

The sound quality from these TV's with speakers on the back is absolutely dreadful. Seems like a 30-inch wide sound bar would be perfect for the compartment right under the bedroom TV in my 31UL. But soundbars that narrow seem to be a rare breed. What have you folks found, or done as a workaround? Thanks.

Got a low end one for a small 32 inch TV at Target.. Didn't want to spend a lot , just needed to get the sound pointed in the right direction. Stupid design to point speakers away from the front!
