GREAT NEWS Fireman.. glad it's working.

Note: In my complaints to my dealer on temperature spikes using the
tankless system, he said if I wanted I could replace with a standard
system and supposedly Jayco would pick up the cost...

So, I will give the system the rest of the year in more trials to determine
whether to keep or replace.

Happy Adventures.

Mike

Had a tankless unit for over two years with no problems. It's all in learning how to use them.

There is a recall on the Girard water heater due to a faulty gas valve. Not sure if this has been addressed here yet or not, but just putting it out there. It might ease some of the headaches people are having. To be clear, it's not a safety issue, but it is a failure-to-light issue.

I have the tankless in my 35UN also, First time out I hated it, then went to Jayco for a few other things, they told me how to use it, Now we love it. works great, never run out of hot water, Basically, you control the water temp in the shower with water heater control in the bathroom, not the shower hot and cold controls, Only use the Hot water side with the preset temp on the heater dial itself, works like a charm.

Glad you got your issue fixed!

I had to replace my Girard Tankless water heater. In the rear of the heater is a magnetic flow switch which broke. The folks at Girard said it couldn't happen but when I showed them the magnet that was in the water jacket they wanted to send me a new switch. I replaced the water heater with a Truma AquaGo Instant Water Heater and it is the best investment you can make. It really is instant hot water that always comes to the taps at 120 degrees. No matter how many facets you have on it is still 120 degrees. It's flame never cycles on and off like on a Girard and others so you get hot and cold spikes but rather adjust the flame from 20,000 to 60,000 btu's and has a mixing vessel to keep a constant 120 degree water temperature. The only problem is they won't sell direct so you have to go to a dealer to have it installed. It fits in the same opening as the Girard or any opening for that matter because it has multiple brackets and face plates and took less than one hour to install. I now have hot water like I have at home. If anyone is interested in this new unit contact Chantal Hershberger Customer Care Coordinator at (574) 208-6891 and tell her I referred you and you will get a discount at least that is what I was told. And yes Jayco Paid for it.

dtjommysr,

On our 15 Precept 31ul I have had mixed results with out Girard tankless system.
Have had to hit white reset button, have had to call Girard twice to
figure out heating issues (was restricted sail fin) and hot/cold spikes.
(after removing shower diverter replacing with oxygenics and using
adjustable H2o regulator this last trip the shower was much better).

I am on the fence as to keeping system or replacing. Dealer said
jayco would to have it replace with standard system.

I have seen videos on the Truma system and have been interested in
it's ability to "deliver". Your post seems to have me more interested
in swapping out, especially of Jayco will pay. Is Chantal at Jayco or
Truma?

If you have any more updates or info on the upgrade let us know
or send me a message.

Mike

p.s the girard system has us control the temp from the Bathroom
control setting and for showers only use the hot water valve.

when replacing with Truma how does the system function in
regards to hot/cold regulation?

Thanks again.

Anyone care to comment on the price range of a Truma?

Chantal works for Truma. The units cost between 1,000. and 1,100 depending on what model you get. I got the more expensive one with a shut off and decalcifier switch mounted in the coach . This was the best investment I have made. It really is instant hot water and it is fixed at 120 degrees. You really have to mix cold water with it to take a great and endless HOT shower. Jayco will only pay the difference between the Girard and Truma if they have to replace your water heater. I have had issues with mine since day one and mine almost blew up so I can't say what Jayco can do for you. I do not work for Truma or have any affiliation with them in any way except to tell you how happy I am with this unit. Again it was the best investment I have made. I was told that if you tell Chantal My name Thomas Gingerelli you will get a discount and she will help you get one but I can't say that is true or just a come on. Her employees came to the campground and installed it on the spot and only charged me one hour $100.00 to install it and it was more than one hour. I love this unit. Good Luck
