Interesting thought, We also felt that it would have been great to have windows in the side of the main slide.

Welcome to the forum.

Is this a unit you already own or a change to one you're thinking of ordering?

Windows

We purchased our precept New last summer. I looked at several makes and models and made a compromise with the UN because of the closeness of a dealer and its large under unit storage. I had many of the same problems as mentioned in this forum. I soon discovered the service at my dealer left a lot to be desired. I fixed most of the problems myself as they were mainly electrical and I am a retaired Electrician. I would like to install the side windows myself if there are no structural issues. The electrical issues were many, including the main slide worked when it wanted to, the factory dc reversing relay is inadequate and the dealers service tech could not replicate the intermittent problem so they did nothing. I purchased a heavy duty reversing relay and installed it and it works like a champ and was actually less money than the factory power gear replacment. I could go on and on about the problems I fixed, but all and all we are enjoying our motorhome now that everything is working. Maybe I can contact Jayco to see about the side windows.

Since there are so many rigs here like yours, maybe a short list of electrical improvements may be helpful to others if you have time. Nothing like finding and fixing your own problems to give the ego a boost!

Like norty1 said.....your self education as well as your extensive background could be very helpful for others if you care to share.

There have been discussions about adding side windows in some of the slides. I don't know if anyone has actually done it yet. Jayco did enlarge the dining slide window for 2016 but no side windows yet.
We look forward to hearing more from you.
