You will appreciate those new lights over the sofa and dinette. I hit my head on that stupid nut too many times. I put something different bu tit still hurts. I need to change them.

I got a few more things done on the camper this weekend which included de-Winterizing and checking out all the plumbing, all went well no leaks and the pump works great. So on to a few more upgrades.
Finished installing a new door knob on the restroom door, it was a residential style and was not made for the thinner RV door. I broke out the Dremel tool and ground down the bolt studs about 1/4 inch and all fit well.

Again, it really looks nice and updates the look of the trailer. Amazing what you can do with a little free time, some tools and a small budget.

Today I had the Progressive industry's 30 amp hard wired EMS arrive so I quickly went to work installing it before the next round of storms moved through. The install was very easy and only took 1.5 hours start to finish. The unit fit perfectly right where a splice was made from the outdoor cord to the 10-2 Romex wire. I was able to remove the wire nuts and just run each end into the relay contacts. I also found the ground wire was barely attached along with the neutral wire, preventing a possible short and melt down.

Well after taking a few weeks off away from the camper we were back at it again this past long weekend. I have our first maiden voyage planned in two weeks so we're in high gear getting things finished up and road ready. Today I dropped it off at our local Jayco dealer for an axel service and lift kit to try and level things out, I will post back in a few days on that one. Meanwhile back to the shade tree mods, first up new blinds and curtains in the bedroom.(sorry for the dark pics)

Up next we finished the cushion covers for the dining area, helped tone down the dated floral pattern.

Today I picked up the rig from our local Jayco dealer. It was in for some much needed attention on the bearings and brakes. The techs found a lot of issues when tearing things apart like the seals being totally shot and grease that was being added was flooding the brake pads making them useless. They also found two of the magnets not working along with some hardware rust problems. I knew going in was not going to be pretty, the old girl is 12 years old and had very little done maintenance wise. So if your rig is getting some age and you keep turning up the gain on your controller it might be time to check out your pads, not only for wear but for over grease as well. I found out after the work was done that I only had about 20% trailer brakes. The o Tundra did pretty well! Oh yea while I had it in the shop I also had a lift kit installed to raise the backend about four inches. I thought it was too much at first until I hitched it up and man it was spot on. The truck and trailer are now level and it made a big difference towing.

Nice work. I'm surprised they didn't change out all 4 backing plates.
I have the 4 originals I pulled from mine last year when I went with the Dexter self adjusting brakes. They were/are in great shape. I thought for sure they would have been grease soaked but the seals were in good shape. I replaced them anyway.
My tow vehicle is way overkill for the for the 9800 GVW Jayco but it is nice to maintain a set speed up steep hills and 12+ mpg doesn't hurt

Edit: I just noticed my sig pic is of my old dually. That was the day I picked up the camper in 2007.

I was able to squeeze in a few more hours of camper mods after work today. The old tree leaf paper boarder is all gone and in its place is the smart tiles squares I had started before. We also removed the dated mint green window boxes and will be adding rods and curtains later.

Hello again,
The next mod was done by a flooring guy that is a good friend. The carpet in the RV was very worn, matted down, and stained so it had to go. The linoleum looked ok but it didn't cover the whole floor so we had all the flooring in the main area removed and new heavy duty hardwood look linoleum installed. This mod had the wow factor with it to really finish off the space and bring it up several years in style. Enjoy...

I almost forgot to post a few pics of the new curtains...whistling... The wife went to Walmart for the rods and my Mom made the curtains from fabric stock. I think they turned out nice and the space is so much brighter with out the window boxes all around them. I was able to keep all the blinds in tack so worked out really well.
