2015 Jayco 29.5 BHDS mods

So I am going to start this thread to display some mods I am going to be completing in the next week or so. I have some time on my hands so here goes nothing!

So far the following parts have arrived;

1 - Progressive Industries 30 amp surge protector with remote

https://www.rvpartscanada.com/index....2#.V2zMuFcvvHg

2 - Furrion High Speed wireless observation camera

https://www.amazon.com/Furrion-FOS48...ywords=furrion

3 - Oxygenics Shower head replacement.

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

4 - New Kitchen sink faucet replacement.

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

5 - Water pump silencing kit (Although my pump is pretty quiet and I may decide not to mess with it)

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

6 - MOR/ryde Heady Duty Shackle kit

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

7 - Shurflo Accumulator tank

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

8 - Carefree automatic awning support

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

9 - Camco Screen door closure kit

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

10 - Camco screen door cross bar

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

11 - Maxxair II Vent covers. I am considering changing to black ones and perhaps even adding the Maxxair deluxe vent with remote in the bathroom. Time will tell I guess.

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

12 - Camco RV stove top cutting board

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

13 - Diamond group 16'4" multi color LED awning light kit. I will be replacing the factory LED white light strip as it doesn't work properly anyway,...and I like colours

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I have more stuff on the way but this is on my to do list this weekend if I can get them all done. I will try to document it the best I can.

So today the first series of mods which includes an important one for me was completed. A new hitch was built, bolted and welded to the frame. A 7 pin light connector was added and I moved the rear propane line to a better spot on the rear.

Quick update as well. I decided to change out my cheap ceiling fan in the bathroom to the Maxxair 7500k deluxe fan with remote. I also ordered the black Maxxair 2 vent for the bedroom vent as I don't want the white ones after all. Anyone want to buy 2 - maxxair 2 vent covers? Lol

I had a spare few mins this afternoon and decided to get one of the easy ones out of the way. #3 on the list.

3 - Oxygenics Shower head replacement.

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I installed one of these in my last fifth wheel and loved it. I really like the "Interrupt" button incorporated into the new system. I don't recall my last one having that. This way you can keep the temp setting you like on the dual knob faucet and just turn the shower head itself off.

Well this evening brought me some extra time

I was able to wire in my Progressive Industries Surge Protector,..#1 on the list.

1 - Progressive Industries 30 amp surge protector with remote

https://www.rvpartscanada.com/index....2#.V2zMuFcvvHg

I followed the lead of several others on here in terms of location. However I mounted it to the side wall using some wood cross members I cut. The install location I chose worked perfect!! I also secured the shore power cord in 2 separate places to the floor so when I get all rammy pulling the cord out of the storage location it doesn't stress the connection to the Surge Protector.

Number 2 on my list was the Furrion High Speed Observation/backup camera.

2 - Furrion High Speed wireless observation camera

https://www.amazon.com/Furrion-FOS48...ywords=furrion

I struggled with where to mount it as there is minimal clearance between the window for the top bunk and the clearance lights. I settled on removing the middle clearance light. Now, the camera has power when the fifth wheel is plugged into my truck and the lights are turned on. Not a bad thing I guess seeing as some have problems locating a shut off switch to the units that are pre wired for a camera. Mine was not.

I had to remove about 8 feet of wire in total from the rats nest that was tucked up in there. More soldering and connecting than I anticipated but it all work out in the end

The kit doesn't come with mounting screws but I had some 1" stainless screws from another project so at least I didn't have to run to town for supplies.

As posted in this other thread http://www.jaycoowners.com/forums/f3...ons-37483.html I completed the install of the Accumulator tank today which is number 7 on my list.

7 - Shurflo Accumulator tank

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I decided not to do the pump silencing kit install so I had the parts from that to do my Accumulator tank install without having to run into town for supplies. The job looks ugly and unprofessional but is functional for the time being. I do plan on cleaning it up and relocating the pump and tank to a more accessible location with a cleaner and more professional looking install.

I am also currently working on the install of the awesome new sink faucet Stay tuned for that one!

So, how is the system working? Can you show what the camera angle / screen shows when the system is on? I'm looking for something and would prefer wireless if its really works well. I already have the rig per-wired for power & I have the shut-off switch inside the battery compartment.

Thanks,
Dave...

Well this one took me longer than I anticipated as well. It turns out the lock nut on the bottom of the single handle faucet was a little wider and I had to trim out a little of the underside of the countertop for it to work.

All in all the install was pretty easy. The only down side was I needed to go and buy some rubber washers to connect the plastic PEC pipe elbow connection to the stainless steel connection the faucet came with. I had it hooked up last night at almost midnight but when I pressure tested it,...the connections were leaking.

2 cheap rubber washers from home depot fixed that this morning What a HUGE improvement from the factory faucet!!

4 - New Kitchen sink faucet replacement.
