212 QBW Mods

Today the weather was absolutely beautiful in PA so I got started on some of the modifications/upgrades on our camper. I will keep updating this thread as I continue with the modifications.

The first one was very easy, I installed a camco hard plastic propane tank cover.

I also built a partition to separate the basement storage from the under bed storage. While I was at it I paneled the interior of them under bed compartment with the 1/4" ply and put a piece of carpet in there to help keep things from sliding around.

Looks great! I like the divider you made for the storage, it turned out really nice. Thanks for posting the pics!

Another easy mod. This is only until I purchase a set of lift assist shocks. $1.49 for a set of plastic closet rod brackets. The bottom one is mounted to a scrap of 1x4 so there are no holes drilled in the floor. Mitered the bottom of the pole to match the angle.

Great job on the bed support wall, I plan to build mine exactly like your design. I will build mine this week, then dry fit it this weekend when we drive out to check on our camper in storage. Keep the mods coming!

Very nice! Unfortunately you're not done. We're going into our 5th year owning our Eagle and I'm still doing mods.

LOL, I hear that. I actually enjoy doing the mods. I'm doing all the inexpensive ones right now since I just bought the camper and the weight distribution hitch $$$. All of the mods that are a little more expensive will wait till next season.

Started another small project. Stove top cover. Had a scrap of 3/4 plywood laying around, trimmed it out with 1x3. Some filler and sanding than I can drain and poly.

It's been a while since I updated this post, I finished the stove top cover and installed shelves in the cabinets over the sink and dinette. Click image for larger version

Looks great. I can't tell, but it looks like you made a frame then put 1/4" plywood on top of the frame? Seems whatever you use would have to be flexible enough to go in a door then straighten out.

I put the plywood in first and propped it up out of the way then used 1/2 by 1/2 square dowels, attached to back of cabinet with 1 1/4 inch drywall screws and liquid nails making sure to hit studs where I can, and attached to the front of the cabinet with 3/4 inch wood screws into the back of the face of the cabinet also with liquid nails. The shelf is 1/8 luan attached to the dowels with half inch wood screws and also used liquid nails. Pre-drilled everything so nothing would split.

Today I installed a max air vent cover and made a sign so you know where to find me when I’m camping.
