We removed the microwave, attached a piece of 2x2 strip of lumber on each side and attached plywood to use as a shelf. Don't be afraid to take out the microwave. It is just a matter of removing the four screws and it came right out. I will tell you that we upgraded to the 24RBS a couple years ago and did the same thing. This time we even ran another outlet off of the one that the microwave plugs into and cut a hole in the outside of the microwave cabinet and put it there.

It didn't occur to me to take the microwave out in order to work in there, sounds nice and easy, thanks.

thanks. My husband and I have been to the missing two, on work trips, just not together while camping. We were going to add them in late 2020 but covid kept us home. Thought about it again in 2021, would have gone in October, but cases were high and rising in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi so we put off the trip again. If things calm down in the spring, the next trip is definitely to the Ozarks and fill out the missing states.

Personally I've also been Hawaii, took my mom for her 80th, just the two of us, so I only have Alaska to go.

Thank you so much for the pics and descriptions. We have been struggling with numerous design flaws since day one from the dealer. I will be incorporating many of these mods on our trailer.

VinceN - I have a Jayco 264BHW that has the same stove/microwave setup as your rig. How did you install the shelf above the microwave? I've already removed the panel above the microwave but thought I would see how you installed the shelf without reinventing the wheel.

Where did you purchase the spice rack that is above your kitchen window?

I removed the microwave, purchased 1x2 to make support rails and placed the plywood on top of that. Then reinstalled the microwave. As far as the spice rack goes I just used scrape wood to make that and purchased a dowel rod. Sorry I don't have any pictures, but I hope that helps.
