Battery Compartment Door Mod

When we were looking at the Melbourne's for the first time I asked the sales guy to open the house battery compartment and extend the tray. The slide-out was out at the time and the house battery compartment is under the slide and difficult to to get to. He was able to open the door and held it open with his head while pulling the locking tabs out and then extending the tray. There wasn't enough room for his head, the door and the battery so something had to go......It was his head, and with that out of the way down came the door. The metal on the door shorted out the terminals and sparks shot out. He was able to get out of the way but his head made contact with the slide-out....No blood.
When we got our Melbourne 26A the first mod was to rig the door to be removed. Very easy and no cost. Just drill out thr rivet and remove the plug.
