Here is an update on my battery box mod. Unfortunately I could not complete this mod. All the measurements I took would appear this mod was the ticket. The only way this mod would have worked was if I moved the propane tanks tight against the power tongue Jack. Doing this I found the propane hose from the regulator to the TT was short by 9 inches. Yes I could get a new hose but I found other issues.

The lid on the box was also too tight against the front of the TT only allowing it to open only 1/2 way. Bottom line is I am lacking the real estate to do this on the A-Frame.

I ended up ordering the B&D RV Battery lock others have mentioned here. I'll find something later on that will fit

My 2V hi cap cart batteries cost me about $300. I have camped in everything from a pop -up to my current TT over 40 years and have never had a battery stolen. Understand that battery thefts are a problem in some areas, but apparently not where I have lived and traveled. I can not justify spending $200 or $300 on a box or whatnot to protect me from something that [knock on wood] doesn't seem to be a problem. Just my thinking on the issue.

I did mount properly sized tall plastic battery boxes for my Cart batteries and bolted the boxes to the angle braces on the TT tongue. The batteries are heavy and fit tightly in the boxes. It is a pain even for me to remove them as I found out when I was fitting them on the tongue. Someone is going to have to really want my batteries since it will take a considerable effort. Not in my opinion something that is going to happen in my back yard or CG while we are on the beach.

Most of these mods are more for style than security.

Thanks for the update. I have been watching this closely and I imagine my 24FBS is sized as yours is. I built some B&D type strap locks on my batteries but I am hoping someday to add a box big enough for my 2 batteries and some additional storage. Haven't found one yet that will fit on my TT.

Those boxes are too much $$ for what I think I can accomplish with a truck box for less $$. The reviews are not too positive either. I would like to hear of any MODS others have done securing their batteries. Any pictures would be helpful. I wasn't too crazy about the rails the battery sits on anyway.

We have a 2015 24FBS and for now only 1 group 24 12volt battery. I may use the extra space for storage.

As for the shore power cable, I'll have to figure out a MOD for that later on.

To the moderators, I'm sorry if a similar thread was started at an earlier time. I searched but could not locate one.

We have the same trailer but with 2 batteries and my husband found a ratchet type cable and tightly secured them to the frame and locked them. It would be very hard and time consuming to try to get them off. Sorry I have no pic it is in storage at this timw

About 25 batteries went "missing" at the storage lot. Luckily mine was not one, I got a set of wing nuts for the batt connections and started removing it when stored.
