bumper supports, heard of these?

So like most trailers my bumper is rated for 100 pounds, with the spare on it cant put anything else. So im been thinking about getting someone to weld up a hitch on the trailer, wasnt thrilled about welding on my brand new trailer or put a front mount hitch on my truck, not crazy about that either, then i found this, anyone heard or uses these, seems like it would work.

Looks like a band-aid to me, I would not use it.

I had a fabricator put bracing (1" square tube if I recall) from the receiver tube back to the frame on an angle. It was very effective.

ETA: This was on a previous RV.

I saw these a couple years ago and thought they were interesting. The only concern I have is the twisting motion on the bumper from a bike rack. Now, if they had bolts going from the support into the bumper as well as into the frame, I would be more interested. Course, I'm no engineer...just a fisherman, so what do I know?

Best thing, which we have done a few times on past rigs, is just change out everything, supports, bumper, etc. I usually change out the box tubing coming from the frame rails and go back with a way thicker 4" square tubing on the bumper. At least I know what I have then. The stock bumper is too thin for much more than a sewer hose holder. I don't even like a spare tire on it. In addition to that, I fab and weld on my own receiver hitches. The Jayco already had one, but it too has been reinforced since the frame mounts only had 3 stitch welds holding them on.

To each their own, but I don't trust anything chassis wise from LCI. I usually always find myself redoing welds or adding more. I don't care if it does void warranty.
