Fan Install in a new location?

I am looking at installing a fan inside my Jayco X213 Ultralite. I know the obvious location is to swap out the one in the bathroom but I don't think it will help with the rest of the trailer as far as pulling air thru it and removing heat. Has anyone out there cut a new hole into their roof for a second fan and install it? Will the fan in the bathroom be sufficient to pull air thru the trailer? I need advice here please.

Thanks,

Brent

I had the standard fan in my bathroom replaced with a Fantastic Fan and it does pull air through the whole trailer.

Our fan is like a fantastic fan with fewer controlls and it pulls air through our trailer. 330RLTS I do not think cutting a new hole is a very good idea. If you have another ceiling vent I would use that.

Those new fans have the ability to change the air in your RV every few min. Just open a window on the "cool side" of your RV to aid it...

The fan in my bathroom is a Northern Breeze. Don't know if it is as good as the Fantastic Fan, but it seems to do a pretty good job. Anyone else with the Northern Breeze?

Thanks for the info. I think I will just swap out the bathroom fan for a Maxxair fan with the Maxxair vent on top.

Our bathroom has the Ventline fan installed from the factory. It is similar to the others but has only one speed and just exhausts the air. When in California this summer when it was over 100 degrees I would turn the fan on and open the window in the bedroom which would draw a small breeze. During the early evening my wife would watch TV but didn't want the AC because of the noise. I am going to purchase a Fantastic fan and install it in the bedroom vent. The model I want is on sale at CW for 142 dollars. I'm surprised that Jayco never put another vent in the living room area. I guess the AC sits in the one there.

Well I installed the Maxair fan in the same place as the bathroom OEM vent. Install was very simple and I see a big difference. I bought the one with the remote control so I can have a thermostat that turns the unit on or off as well as having a rain sensor. This will keep it somewhat reasonable during summer storage and help for air flow. Thanks for everyones input here. I'm going camping today--can't wait!

Thought I would give an up-date here after a few camping trips with the fan install. I changed out the bathroom fan for the MaxAir fan. This is one if the best mods I have done and it really works, even with the bathroom door closed. I have about a 2 inch gap at the bottom of the bathroom door which allows it to be closed while operating and pulling in air from windows at the back end of the trailer. I recomend this mod especially if you can get the auto fan, for storage.

I am glad the new fan did the job for you, and that you did not have to cut a new hole in the roof.

X2 on not cutting a new 14" x 14" hole thru the roof... You just never know what's in the there before you cut. Then once you start there is no turning back back... Then you have to beef up the hole between the roof and the ceiling. More to it that meets the eye...

My bathroom fan draws real good from the trailer. The top of my bathroon door has a good inch or more opening and allows for a big draft from the whole trailer. Nothing better than camping off the power grid with the roof fan pulling in cool air from the outside...

Reminds me of the swamp cooler days living in the Phoenix area back in the 60s... We could do some serious cooling once we figured out by trail and error which windows to crack open for the best results...
