Gas Check-Not really a mod, just a cool toy

This came in yesterday's mail. Tried it out on the propane bottle I have here at the house. Works fine. Never could get the hang of tapping on the tank to get a level.
These things seem to get mixed reviews but mine works great.

Looks like they have the right idea.


I'm sticking with run out. Swap tank. Run to empty. Repeat.


Don't need another toy to do that.

Yeah, I bought from Moscap directly, same price as Amazon but no tax or shipping. I've been doing the "run to empty" but...

Easier to leave both tanks on, switches automatically, I check once a week in cold weather, less often in warm weather. Indicator shows red when the tank is empty, fill and I'm good to go. I know within a few days how long a tank will last depending on our usage. Don't need another toy to duplicate what the auto switch over does already

Same process I use but as soon as I notice it switch over I replace the tank and I always run off the right tank. So if the switch is on the left tank I know one is empty.

Hope that makes sense.

I'll usually slosh the left tank around to make sure it is still full as well when changing out the right one.

I'm new to 2 tanks and auto-switchover. I was figuring on running on 1 (currently port side) until empty. Flip the switch to starboard. Refill the port tank and reinstall and leave open until the starboard tank is empty.

Do I have the whole thing sideways or are you running a non-linear process so you don't have to remember which tank to fill? It's always the right one. Until the left one runs out?

Exactly! Just run on the right tank so I don't have to remember anything. Anytime I see the switch on the left I know the right is empty without having to tap or unbolt and slosh the tank around.

I think I even put the new full tank on the left once in a while so I don't get caught with an empty left tank to.

I guess my other rational is that I know my left tank is always full!

I used to run like you mention with only one tank open so I knew when the tank ran out..... until I got woken up at around 2am with some alarm going off and a cold trailer. Had to run outside and crawl under the HTT front bed to turn on the second tank. All was well after that but I don't want to repeat it.
