hand wand for toilet
anyone install a hand wand or thetford calls it a 'water saver' on the flush valve?
http://www.thetford.com/HOME/PARTS/P...9/Default.aspx
number 8
or http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...=ATVPDKIKX0DER
whats the purpose? to clean yourself or the toilet? and how does it 'save water'?
I've got to pull my aqua V to change the water module and saw this thing. Didn't know if it was worth adding while I have it out.
I coundn't find anything on here and I found a nice write up on the install on another forum but he never says why he added the sprayer.
thanks,
Bert

I had one on another. It was unused mostly. My shower sprayer could be used as a stand in if you wanted.

My shower sprayer wouldn't reach. What did you use it for?

I presume this sprayer is intended for washing down "skid marks" off the sides of the toilet bowl. I simply fill the bowl with enough water to cover them, which either dissolves or loosens them enough that the next flush washes them away.

Yup. I agree.
Besides, this is one place I tend to be generous with the water. In my view "water saving" here is counter-productive.

2 good and 1 bad so it's hard to say if the one bad one just had his expectations too high? The install write up I found they guy did plumb it directly to the main line to increase pressure and he loved it.

yeah I was wondering where the 'water saver' part came it too? I'll just stick to adding a little more water when needed.

In thinking about this further, you should be able to achieve similar results using a spray bottle that can spray in a forceful stream (like a squirt gun) containing water and, optionally, some sort of cleaning agent added.

Used for skid marks. We could but don't use it. We just fill it as stated by another poster. We do have a "toilet brush" w/ a stand that we keep near by for those , well you know!

When I was in the dollar store I saw a foam dishwashing stick and use that for the "skidmarks" cut the bottom out of an empty 1 qt milk carton as a holder.. (I'm single can you tell?)

I was thinking about a brush that is in good holder and screw the holder down so it doesn't fall over while traveling.
