has anyone added lights inside their slide area?

We found out last night in the dark that it is very hard to see into the slide area.
Anyone have a remedy?

On ours there are lights under the cabinets that are over the couch which provide adequate lighting.

I was referring to the storage areas outside of the trailer.. we used to call them the slides because there were sliding storage units that pulled out.. not sure what they are called on a jayco.. but thats where we need light.

For whatever reason, we've always called them cubbies as in cubby holes. I added some battery operated tap LED lights to ours. Haven't been thrilled with that though. I'm still trying to figure out somewhere that I can grab 12-volt from and put some better lights in. I'm trying to avoid coming up through the floor if I don't have to so I'm still searching and thinking.

I put a small led flashlight in our " pass-thru storage" until I get time to do the same mod that Bob did to his " cubbyhole". I like the idea of having a switchable light that is out of the way.

On the new Eagle super lites it is easy, Jayco passes the front marker lights through the front wood panel to get behind the fiberglass cap. From there you can just run down and across the frame to tie into the junction panel on the tongue for 12v power or go directly to the battery. On mine I tied into the hitch up light switch on the live side so that I can kill power when I turn my master switch (personnally installed under the sink cabinet) off to make sure I don't kill my batteries should I ever forget to turn them off. Inside the cubbies I installed a 12v light (same as inside the trailer) over top of each cubbie door...TONS of light!!!

I have been looking at rechargeable work lights.. (used to be called a trouble light) but they do not get great reviews .. If we can not run power to that area, I may just buy a plug in trouble light, and install a hook on the inside of each storage door..

Check out what Rustic Eagle did to his pass thru storage area using LED light in this same JAYCO MODS forum. Most has 12VDC readily availvale in that area so just tap into it.

He did a nice job on his... Has photos...

Ahhhhhhhh, the front pass through storage compartment. I have also added the LED battery operated puck lights in the front and rear storage. Works OK.
