Home made step covers/fill caps

Just finished mounting the step covers and replacing the rubber fill caps with the new ones.

I just zip tied them together so if I want to remove them it's a quick snip with a pair of scissors.

Pick up a handful of light duty extension springs at the hardware store.

I used zip ties, too. Next time, will try elastic shoe strings.

What kind of material did u make the step covers from? Looks kind of like an outdoor carpet?

Outdoor mold/mildew resistant carpet from Menards. Probably don't have $10 in the whole thing doing both sets of stairs.
