Jay Feather SLX 19XUD Mods
We have had our 19XUD for about 2 months and done a number of mods to it already!
- Added 2 front stabilizer jacks
- Added dual 20lb propane tank holder
- Added medicine cabinet
- Added LED strip light (wired to the 12V outside light)
- Added 2 inch receiver hitch for bike rack (bolted to the frame)
- Added towel bars in washroom
- Added MaxxAir vent cover (of course!)
- Removed some paneling to make front storage area bigger
I hopefully get some time this weekend when we are out to take some pictures of some of the mods and post them.
Next on the list:
- Camco Tornado Rotary Tank Rinser for black tank
- External speakers

I ran the LED 4 wire strip in to the wardrobe then behind the microwave and then out to the outside light. I put the controller in the outside light and ran the IR sensor out the bottom of the light. (Thanks 5swigerts for the idea!!)

Awesome! I'm hoping to pick mine up next week and have been thinking about similar mods!
EDIT: Just wondering where you bought the accessories from? Still new to the game, so any advice, info, etc would be appreciated!
The medicine cabinet will probably be one of the first mods, but is it like installing one in a home using drywall mollies?

I just picked up the medicine cabinet at HomeDepot. I just screwed it to the wall using the paneling join as a guide to locate the stud. I did add an extra magnet to the door to ensure it stayed closed during travel.
The LED lights I ordered from Amazon - "ADX LED-STRIP-NA Strip 16.4 Feet SMD Water-Resistant 300Leds RGB Flexible Led Strip Light Lamp Kit Plus 44 Key IR Remote Controller"

Awesome! Thanks for the reply.
How did you run power to the LEDs on the outside of the camper? Is there an easily accessible grommet?

I drilled a hole through the wall just below the gutter at the end of the awning in to the wardrobe. Then used silicone around the hole after to seal it up.

Sure, there is a panel at the front of the storage area the blocks all the open space. I attached a photo to show you with the panel removed (too lazy to take all the stuff out!). There is some wiring and propane lines behind the panel so I made sure to cover them with 1/4 inch plywood and staple some of the wires at the top of the area out of the way do I wouldn't damage them when putting stuff in this space.
I also did the same thing under half of the couch (the half towards the front of the trailer). Again there is nothing but open empty space here expect for some wiring and water lines. I used 1/4 plywood make a floor to cover all the waterlines and wiring so now it's a great spot to store small bags or suitcases.

Very cool. That is definitely a lot of wasted space in the front. I might be doing the same now. Thank you for the quick and detailed response.

How has your bike rack been working? I assume you only have 2 bikes on it?

It's been working great! I have 3 bikes on it currently, 2 adult bikes and one kids bike.
To secure them even more, I installed a eye hole screw through each side where the bunk latches are and use a ratchet strap to hold them tight from bouncing.
I'll see if I can find a pic and post it.

Do you have a part number on the hitch that you added or was it one of those universal fit ones that had to be cut to width?

I made the hitch from 2" square steel tubing welded it to a 2 in. Receiver then just used two long U bolts to bolt it to the frame.
