Let the mods begin

A couple of mods I have made so far. I needed the bumper space for some future mods so I moved the spare tire under the trailer. Went to a friends junk yard and got a spare tire crank from a pickup and welded a frame to hold it then bolted it to the fram. Sure hope that I got the pictures posted right.Click image for larger version

What is the clearance from the bottom of the tire to the ground? It looks like it would catch/drag when entering or leaving and entrance/exit that has incline/decline

It's about 14" I think it will be fine it is higher then the axle and mounted about 6' from the back of the trailer. I will have to really watch it though

Your newly mounted spare is close enough to the axle that clearance would not be a problem. I prefer our spare to be under the trailer because most bumper mounts don't look real sturdy when you follow one down the road.

I made a clothes drying rack that mounts to my roof ladder out of a leg of a pop up tent that took flight like a kite in the wind a couple of weekends ago. I had seen a picture of a wooden one on the internet so I thought what the heck let's make it out of the tentClick image for larger version

ID:	13061 Installed an occupancy sensor for the main lights that way I don't have to try to find a switch behind a little door that hides the switches in the dark. If I want the lights off while in the trailer I just flip the switch off

I like the occupancy sensor. Where did you get that?

Nice mods. I have one of those drying rods made of wood, they work well but sometimes water condensate from the ac will keep your clothes wet.

Thanks. I got the occupancy sensor of the eBay . The original connectors that came with the occupancy sensor didn't make good connection and melted within the first 10 minutes so I pulled it all apart and soldered wire on too those contacts

This looks like it hinges on the single u clamp, and stops on the other side due to the length.

And some sort of PVC bushing around the ladder post?

Do you do anything to keep this in the storage position?

I used a three-quarter inch PVC coupling and a 1-inch to hole strap. When in the up position I have a piece of velcro I wrap around a ladder to hold in place

I also mounted a 27 watt LED flood light up under the second awning by the outdoor kitchen ran the wires down the hunting and put a switch in the compartment where the kitchen is. Now I have light when I'm cooking.

That occupancy sensor sure makes a lot of sense. How did you hook up the wiring to the main lite lines? I am poor with wiring so please be very descriptive for me. Thanks - Jeff

Hey Jeff all that I did was pull down the first light that the switch goes to and cut the wires that go to the switch and made them feed the occupancy sensors line side. The wire that went to the light is the load side. By doing it that way I can still use the switch to turn the lights off if I want to
