Amazon links didn't work for me. So does the light come on when you open the door on the control center?

Yes...magnetic switch turns light on when you open the door....turns off when you close it.....wired into the 12V plug at bottom of control center....

Don't know why the amazon links didn't work but here are the 2 items needed:

SeaSense Surface Mount LED Courtesy Light....$8.88

Directed Electronics 8600 Micro Magnetic Switch....$9.46

Just as I was beginning to look for something to light up the control panel and the pantry in our 331RETS. Thanks for sharing the idea. Did you have to buy a transformer to power the LED's?

Glad to see I was able to help! Your pic looks almost identical to my setup!

That's one of my favorite mods. I also labeled the switches so there's no more trial by error to find the right light switch!

You could probably use a transformer, but so far it hasn't been necessary. The LED draws VERY little amperage.

I also have some of these:
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B002ODIU9E/...I1SK3H0Q0OA1QZ

They're really neat and battery powered, but I haven't quite figured out how to mount them where I want them yet. They are very directionally sensitive, so it's a little more of a challenge to get it to work in a cabinet...

I was thinking about a relay. Definitely no transformer needed, it's all 12V. No relay needed either, the light and switch have been able to handle the current without one.

Sorry 'bout that!
