Lost some tongue weight today!

Switched out my 30 pound propane tanks for 20's today. From what I read a 30 full weight is about 55 lbs a 20 is about 32 lbs. Multiply time 2 and I lost about 46 lbs in 20 minutes work. All I had to do was switch the partially threaded rod out for a fully threaded piece 24" long.

Advantage of the 20 lb. bottle there are a lot more in use; they are lighter, easier to handle and cheaper than the 30 lb bottle.

If you purchase propane by the gallon or lb. the cost is the same. If your exchanging bottles, you are paying way too much for your propane. You already had thhe 30 lb tank, so, unless you traded you paid additional for the 20 lb tanks. Also, you will be refilling much more often with the smaller tanks. Should I assume you don't use much propane so that is not an issue? If it works for you, then I'm happy you saved the weight.

Had the 20's sitting around since I switched my house bbq over to natural gas and I almost always have tanks filled not exchange. In fall I use the camper for hunting and will switch by to the 30's. I never dry camp till fall so the gas use in spring and summer is very minimal.

Then jettison that second bottle (seasonally) and lose another 20#; unless you use the open storage place for a keg of beer.
