Maxx Air roof vent.

I am wanting to install a roof vent cover on my 22 FB. It has a factory installed fan in it now.
I leave my vent open a crack most of the time, I have my TT parked at my house, so I can close it during inclement weather.
Would installing a Maxx Air cover be alright for circulation or should I upgrade my fan as well?
Thanks!

We have factory installed fan in bedroom and a fantastic fan in the bathroom. We covered both with the Maxx Air cover so we could keep fans open in inclement weather. The air definitely moves much better with the fantastic fan vs the regular

I put Maxx Air II's on all my units and they do not leak one bit, even during heavy downpours. If you get a sideways rain you might get some inside, but normal rain not one issue. All my vents stay wide open underneath at all times. Towing, stored, or while camping without AC. They are easy to install and can be opened up with the pull of 2 pins on either side to clean or work on something. Mine are all white except the front which I is silver to filter light for over my master bed. On my Northern Breeze fan, (high volume) in the bathroom I installed the fan mate 850. This is just a cover to handle the increased volume of air leaving the camper, not an additional fan. They make upgrade kits that plug into exisiting hatches you can buy online for as little as $35.00 and put in without making new holes to upgrade your stock fan.

Maxx Air or some external cover are a must do mod IMHO. If your out, or away from your camper and it rains unexpectedly you have nothing to fear. We came home to a wet bed once! Never again.

I have two on my Designer. They work great and I have never had a leak in any weather. I don't leave the vents open when I tow however. I want as little dust coming in as possible.

Same here. I put a dark one above bed room vent to cut out the light and sleep longer. The others are white. I have never had a leak, even above bed when towing in heavy down pours.

I also have a FB22. I had the bath vent removed and had a Fantastic fan installed and a Max Air vent cover. works great no leaks and better circulation than the original fan.

I bought the smoke colored ones for our trailer. The max air 11's are hard to get on the west coast in that color. I bought a similar style from CW which were much cheaper and fit over the fantastic fan vent in the bathroom. If I turn on the bathroom fan which is really quiet, it creates a nice intake breeze thru the bedroom vent.

I put the Camco vent on our 22fb and it works great. Leaks should not
be an issue as the only holes you drill are in the side of the vent.

Ther are some great installation videos on Youtube. Took me less than 15 minutes to install

The Camco vent is cheaper than the Max Air. They both go on the same, Max Air is a little sportier looking.

Installing Maxx/Air covers on my roof vents was one of the first mods I made after purchasing the TT. Never had a problem with leakage or rain coming in. I pretty much leave my vents open all the time except when running the A/C, furnace or when I store the TT for the winter.

My Starcraft did not have a fan in the kitchen vent. The bathroom did. Neither had a cover.

Decided I absolutely needed a good fan in the kitchen. Pulling down the lower cover of the existing vent reveal DC wiring run past the vent. I'm not 100% what these lines feed, but taped into one anyway. Installed a Turbo/Max - what a great unit! 1.4 amps at low speed (~500 CFM) and 4 amps on high and move OMG air!

At the kitchen is in the back and bedroom in the front, with the fan blowing out this should work well. We can open the bedroom windows and run the fan on low at night - keeping us nice a cool. I'm seriously thinking about the Maxx window vents to give the air a way in when it is raining.

Mandatory MOD IMHO....

I have been debating this for some time. I have a good fan in the bathroom, but no current fans in the bedroom or bunk room (32BHDS). How hard is it to install fans in the bedrooms? I have heard many have wires nearby or you can splice off the nearby lights. But I havent taken things apart yet.

We are thinking about vent covers too. One in the livingroom and one for the bathroom.

I have 2 MaxxAir FanMates and 1 Turbo/Maxx vent covers on my trailer. I installed them when I purchased the trailer 9 years ago. They are all in great shape.

The MaxxAir FanMates are installed over Create-A-Breeze Fantastic Fans that I ordered with the trailer. The Turbo/Maxx is installed over a stock trailer vent with small exhaust fan. We've never used the small, noisy stock vent fan.

I upgraded one of the Create-A-Breeze fans in the bedroom with a kit from Fantastic Fan that converts it to thermostat controlled, variable speed fan.

The Fantastic fans create the best ventilation with the least noise compared to the Turbo/Maxx thermostatically controlled variable speed fan. But, the difference is slight.

If I had to do it all over, I would install thermostatically controlled, variable speed Fantastic Fans in all locations and cover them with MaxxAir FanMate vent covers.

I leave all the vents fully opened, even while traveling. I have found no issue with dust entering the trailer with them opened, even in transit. The only time they are closed is in very hot and very cold weather to aid in maintaining interior temps. In those times we also use foam plugs in the vent holes to help insulate loss of heat or cool air.

I've never had water enter the trailer in any rainstorm in the 9 years of use.
