The first thing I did was put 3 Max Airs on my 5th wheel. At $19.95 (on sale) it was a cheap mod.

We have a factory installed Northern Breese in the bathroom vent- It is quieter than the plain exhaust fan we have had in the past- It is also more efficient- We think the Northern Breese fan is a good investment and plan to have one installed in the living area vent which currently has no fan at all- We have a vent cover on the bathroom vent and leave it open at all times- JMHO-DD

How many inches clearance is required on the left and right side of the vent that you want to install the Maxxair II vent cover on?

Very easy. All the hardware is provided you just need roof sealant, drill, small bit for pilot holes, socket or wrench for holding the small nuts and a phillips head. Maybe 1/2 hr to 45 mins each one once your on top.

So has anyone added a vent cover in a dark or smoked color to help reduce the light that comes in? I don't mind the light in the bath room (in fact the more the better, but the vents above the bed's could go with a little less light, especially in the morning.
How effective are the dark covers in blocking some of the light?

I got them at the dealer where I bought the 5th W. They were on sale and I just happened to be there at the right time. They said they wouldnt last long. But I'll send you the PM just in case.

And if you're not too fussy, you can get the Camping World brand for about $5 less. It also has vents along the sides.

I installed the Max Air Fan mate. Simple 20 minute install, with no holes in the roof. Been on for about 2 months now and not a drop of water. They also can be easily flipped up to clean the vent below.

I installed 4 Maxxair II's last year, as soon as I got the trailer.
The vents have been open since then, even in the winter, while not in use.
No problems, except once, when some hornets tried to build a nest in it.
