New Gas Struts under our Pinnacle's King Bed
Ever since we added a Memory Foam Topper to our bed, the gas struts will not hold it up.
Took off the factory installed 100 LB Gas Struts and replaced them with 120 LB Gas Struts, now the bed stays up great and does not hit me in the head when getting sheets and towel out from the storage area under the bed, LOL
Got the new Struts off Ebay for about $12 each

We did the memory foam also but my struts still hold it up. It might be because ours is just a queen sized bed and so the foam topper weighs less. Good mod and probably saved a lot of frustration. I usually let something like this go on for way too long before I fix it and then think "why didn't I do this a lot sooner.."

When I replaced the original mattress with a sleep number mattress my struts have absolutely no problem. Actually it is easier to pick up and stays up perfectly since the sleep number is lighter than the original mattress.

Here is the link.
Now when the bed is about 6 inches from being all the way open, you can let go of it and it goes on up on its own.
Easy change out, proped up the bed, poped off the old ones, snapped on the new ones.

I added a memory foam to our Pinnacle's king size bed. There's 6 blankets and five pillows. Mine still hold the bed up. Unfortunately, ours came with the fancy bed spread and about 11 decorative pillows that we have no need for. That's what takes up all the space under the bed.........

When we added the memory foam topper, it would not stay up anymore.
I does now with ease, when it is open, you can push it down about 4 to 6 inches and let go, it goes back up by itself.
We took the black bedspread and pillow covers off and put them in storage, put on a much lighter color cover.
