Outdoor Refrigerator?

I was thinking this morning about a small refrigerator to put in one of the compartments on my Alante 31V. I was looking at the Camping World page, and didn't see anything small enough. Are any of you aware of something for this? That I could hardwire into the system both Electric and Gas like the indoor fridge is?

Be nice to put my beer out there, instead of filling up the interior fridge with it.

A gas fridge will need lots of venting out the top.


From what I've read, the 'outdoor kitchen' fridges are thermocouple or compressor based, needing lots of electricity to keep foods cold.


We found making ice in the main fridge to support a cooler outside worked very well.

Norcold makes a two way fridge or freezer (one or the other by flipping a switch) running on 12VDC or 120VAC that will and does fit in many motorhome compartments. It's more of a small chest type unit.
And as a matter of fact it was an option with our Jayco motorhome.

If its just for keeping drinks cold you might just look at an electric cooler which can be bought at any big retail store. We have one that is 12V/110V. It would be far easier to run a 12V outlet to that compartment than trying to rig up gas lines/ venting. Those coolers come in a large variety of sized and shapes so getting one that fits the space just right shouldn't be a problem. The only downside is they do ice up (around the fan) and need to be unplugged and defrosted every so often. Otherwise ours works great and we keep it plugged into the 12v inside the trailer while travelling so everything stays cold.

I would probably just get a high end cooler, like a Yeti, that will hold ice for days and days to keep beer cold in an outside compartment. Yeti's are expensive, but so would a fridge and necessary electrical and/or gas work required to install it.

This is similar to the one in my outdoor kitchen, this one is a little smaller, but it looks like it 'could' fit in a decent sized storage bay. Obviously, by default it only runs when on shore power, wiring in a new plug is simple. The night before we head out for a trip, I plug in, and fill it with cold beer. We take off... 8+ hours later, the beer is still *cold* (I've tested this multiple times). Most of our trips we're plugged in (so far).

Had it for about 3 years now and works well enough to keep the ice runs down. Best part is that it works on 12v for when they are traveling to a fro.

If in your travels this summer you're going by or staying near a Coleman outlet I've seen them going for under $40.00 in their stores or tent sales.

Another option is a 110V dorm fridge like we have in our outdoor kitchens. Has to be one out there that will fit.

Agree the gas option is just too complex to achieve with all the proper venting required.

Our new TT had a small "dorm room" size fridge in the rear storage compartment, no temp control, just a short 110v cord and an outlet in the compartment. I removed the fridge for the storage space. I use a cooler & ice for my beer. LOL
