Panel Mount Volt Meter

I have used a plug in voltage meter like this one for years but where the plugs are is not convienient to seeing the meter.

Now I want to mount a surface mount blue AC meterwhere it can be seen more easily. The wall I am using will be next to the refridg so power is available.

I was wondering if anyone had done this and how did it work. This is my winter project since the TT is stored next to the S&B.

I used a similar meter to monitor my 12v system. Put a momentary switch on it so it won't be on all the time. I really didn't want the blue glow at night.

Good point on the switch. From where it will be the light will be annoying if on all of the time.
