I became concerned about the power cord giving access to insects and mice, so I replaced the cord with a locking plug at the trailer (as others have described in this forum). I was trying to figure out what to do with the area that formerly held the retracted cable. Not many options. I ended up reinforcing the top of the box, and added a locking lid. Now, I can use the space for secure storage, which someone would have to put some effort into finding.
